RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Looks like the coro mania is starting to die down, so here is one from my brother.  Not sure which plan he followed, I will find out when he is back in town.

Love the reinforcement with the light weight wooden scale, and the credit card control horns (I know he has lots of plastic control horns, but seems to have followed a higher calling!) Thumbs Up

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

NICE Plane. Can youu give the details? POwer system Electronics and AUW.

We can compare as it uses 3mm single coro foe wing I think from pic.

Thanks

Credit card control horns is a real indigenous idea especially for coro. I just have a doubt regarding that, like after prolonged movements of the control surfaces, wouldn't the material wear away?

It is quite sturdy material, I would expect it to last pretty much similar to plastic control horns.  Only time can tell for sure Smiley

What "hinges" ? Wink  This is why it is better to post after a good night's sleep !

Actually I wanted to highlight the hinge also, where he not only cut one side of a flute, but made appropriately spaced cuts on the remaining side too.

Yes, the wing is 3mm coro, and the fuse is 5mm.

As shown in the picture, it has an Eflite Park 400 motor (http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLM1305), and a Scorpion 45A ESC which were both lying around with me (ie, not exactly planned) with a 10x4.7 prop.

When he built the plane initially, he had a very long fuse as he used up all the remaining available length of the coro sheet.  It became very very tail heavy as a result.  After a test flight with an extra battery attached to the nose just for weight, he reduce the fuse length, and now it seems a little too small.  But he did mention it is the correct proportions now, will know better only when I see which plan (if any) he followed.

Now that the AUW (which we have not measured) has come down, we will probably also go for a smaller motor.

The power system was moved from this plane to someone's scratch built VFO style plane (as he did not have anything suitable).  This again was built beautifully, with foamboard fuse, and coro landing plates.

PS: Although I did very little building of planes, I am proud (and arrogant) at encouraging (and even forcing) most newcomers in our field do many many scratch builds !  >Cheesy
