Title: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on September 25, 2015, 04:49:44 PM Hey,
I know that I have a habit of abandoning build threads but I am gonna stick to this one. I am going to build a bush style avispad with custom flaps and some scale features similar to those of pc6 porters. Got 3 4x1 feet vinyls for 120 bucks. And got 3and4 mm corro 6x4 for rs 100 and 180 respectively. Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on September 26, 2015, 07:30:30 PM started the wing.

Check some of my builds - you need a piece of ply glued under the corro for the servo mounting screws to grip Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 01, 2015, 06:59:47 AM Yes sir,
I have the ply pieces cut. I will attach them today. Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 01, 2015, 11:39:20 AM placed order on hobbyking with registered air mail.
i think it is normal for tracking to get updated after 7- 10 days. Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 03, 2015, 10:51:41 AM wing weight is 325.gms

next time, ill fill the wings with helium! Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 26, 2015, 09:43:16 AM progress is on. everything almost completed!
pushrods and rudder left!! Maid. tomorrow. I am having a nervous breakdown that the plane will crash! Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 26, 2015, 01:58:41 PM is elevator flutter fine on high throttle?
Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: sanjayrai55 on October 26, 2015, 05:28:51 PM No control surface flutter is acceptable. Please reinforce these. You could use bamboo skewers or CF rod/Tube
Further, trim the corners at a 45 degree angle Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 26, 2015, 06:34:35 PM no sir not that way!
the whole elevator (incl. the part that do not move)rocks right and left at more than 3/4 throttle. Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: maahinberi on October 27, 2015, 08:39:48 AM Hey prabal. Nice build!
Waiti.ng to see video Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: maahinberi on October 27, 2015, 08:42:57 AM no sir not that way! the whole elevator (incl. the part that do not move)rocks right and left at more than 3/4 throttle. A little bit of vibration is fine. You can clearly see the same happening below (Just before hand launch): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rASh0gA3fYc And I fly that plane pretty fast. Never faced any control loss at high speeds (which happens when the surface flutters) Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 27, 2015, 09:25:34 AM Ill fly it low and slow
Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 27, 2015, 09:27:44 AM Every thing except rudder and back covering completed
Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: rastsaurabh on October 27, 2015, 09:50:25 AM Have you put flaps as well ?

Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 27, 2015, 01:10:48 PM @ maahinberi
Yes sir, it just flutters a bit more! Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 27, 2015, 01:11:33 PM you see, my motor is a 3536 1100 kv
Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 27, 2015, 06:25:27 PM Crashed it.
It was too fast even on half throttle with flaps fully deployed. would have handled it but ailerons were not trimmed. Just a new prop and some formers to replace and put landing gears back on. it was as fast as maahin sir's avisport Title: Re: Post by: sanjayrai55 on October 27, 2015, 08:34:49 PM Its good you tried to maiden it yourself. That's how you learn and become better
Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on October 27, 2015, 09:29:55 PM Yes sir.
will try to repair it and bring it to sec 29 this or next saturday. just some wooden pieces to replace. i think the problem was with aoleron trims. Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on November 14, 2015, 10:48:27 AM The plane was remaidened today!
Sanjay sir flew it for me! It flew excellent. He suggested me to add the following to my plane to make it better and stable: 1) Fix the tail wheel clevis to the rudder with the help of a bent plastic peice. 2) Add bolts and nuts to the L.G instd. of self-Tapping screws 3) Fix a 2mm packing under the wing T.E. Thanks, Sanjay Sir. Will make the improvements! Video coming soon! Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: sanjayrai55 on November 14, 2015, 10:57:08 AM Yup, do the needful, and the model will give you many happy flights
It's very well built for a first effort. Kudos {:)} {:)} Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on November 14, 2015, 02:02:53 PM sir now from where do i get nuts and bolts to mount the lg?
Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: sanjayrai55 on November 14, 2015, 05:51:30 PM M3 X 25 Allen Bolts - from the bazaar, where else >:D
Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log Post by: prabal276 on November 14, 2015, 11:36:37 PM Sir.
I found out the cause of that jittery sound. one of the screws that mounted the motor to the motor mounting x was missing and one was loose. And sir can you share a pic of packing uder the T.E as i am not able to undrstand the setup. Title: Re: Post by: sanjayrai55 on November 15, 2015, 05:29:51 AM No PIC. Just raise the TE about 2 mm w.r.t. the LE with a piece of packing
