Title: Bush style avispad build log
Post by: prabal276 on September 25, 2015, 04:49:44 PM
Hey,
I know that I have a habit of abandoning build threads but I am gonna stick to this one. I am going to build a bush style avispad with custom flaps and some scale features similar to those of pc6 porters.
Got 3 4x1 feet vinyls for 120 bucks.
And got 3and4 mm corro 6x4 for rs 100 and 180 respectively.

Are you putting flaps? They are not really needed

Check some of my builds - you need a piece of ply glued under the corro for the servo mounting screws to grip

Yes sir,

is elevator flutter fine on high throttle?

Post by: sanjayrai55 on October 26, 2015, 05:28:51 PM
No control surface flutter is acceptable. Please reinforce these. You could use bamboo skewers or CF rod/Tube

Further, trim the corners at a 45 degree angle

no sir not that way!
the whole elevator (incl. the part that do not move)rocks right and left at more than 3/4 throttle.

no sir not that way!
the whole elevator (incl. the part that do not move)rocks right and left at more than 3/4 throttle.

A little bit of vibration is fine. You can clearly see the same happening below (Just before hand launch):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rASh0gA3fYc

And I fly that plane pretty fast. Never faced any control loss at high speeds (which happens when the surface flutters)

you see, my motor is a 3536 1100 kv

Title: Re: Bush style avispad build log
Post by: prabal276 on October 27, 2015, 06:25:27 PM
Crashed it.
It was too fast even on half throttle with flaps fully deployed.
would have handled it but ailerons were not trimmed.
Just a new prop and some formers to replace and put landing gears back on.
it was as fast as maahin sir's avisport

Its good you tried to maiden it yourself. That's how you learn and become better

Yes sir.
will try to repair it and bring it to sec 29 this or next saturday.
just some wooden pieces to replace.
i think the problem was with aoleron trims.

The plane was remaidened today!
Sanjay sir flew it for me!
It flew excellent.
He suggested me to add the following to my plane to make it better and stable:
1) Fix the tail wheel clevis to the rudder with the help of a bent plastic peice.
2) Add bolts and nuts to the L.G instd. of self-Tapping screws
3) Fix a 2mm packing under the wing T.E.
Thanks, Sanjay Sir.
Will make the improvements!

Video coming soon!

Sir.
I found out the cause of that jittery sound.
one of the screws that mounted the motor to the motor mounting x was missing and one was loose.
And sir can you share a pic of packing uder the T.E as i am not able to undrstand the setup.

Title: Re:
Post by: sanjayrai55 on November 15, 2015, 05:29:51 AM
No PIC. Just raise the TE about 2 mm w.r.t. the LE with a piece of packing
