Title: AWING FALCON 2-ch IR R/C Biplane product review......price 460/-
Post by: sahilkit on August 06, 2009, 09:58:18 AM
hi guys

i generally don't do reviews n stuff unless it's a DIY thing! but this one is an exception.Now coming back to the subject the model I'm talking about is a micro size RTF with twin motor-thrust control system that we generally see in the bigger 2-ch R/C models because of its size and cost this model uses IR control system and another interesting thing is its a Bi-plane making the model the size of once hand.

what is included in the box  ???

1. a fully assembled model with all the needed parts.
2. one extra set of propeller blades.
3. one 2 channel IR transmitter with selectable bands namely A,B and C and trim system.

some of the standard features of model are.

1.the model run on single cell lipo (mostly a 50-70mah range battery).
2.power come from two small 4mm pager motors n prop dia is 1.25 inch.
3.the model can be charged via the transmitter with the included connector.
4.the transmitter has three selectable bands letting three people to fly side by side
5.the transmitter works on 6 AA size pen cells and also comes included with a charger for the model with compartment for the wire to put in
6.to trim the model the transmitter includes a nice trim system which will let you tune the model to fly in a straight line.
7. Last but not the least the IR system has an exceptional range of more then 35feet outdoor.

here are some pictures

some more and forgot to add a decal sheet is also included in the box but i would not recommend using it because of its weight and it felt like cheap......... :-X no added advantage .

newbie point of view  ;D

Advantage of buying the model

1. its cheap n small so can be flown in small place. :-*
2. no need of instructor can be flown by a complete beginner. {:)}
3. made of EPP so very hard to damage the model in a crash. {:)}
4. power system is on the back side of the wing hence hard to damage. :)
5. model is well build and easy to fly. :)
6. will help a newbie to learn about planes orientation,controlling,trimming etc  {:)}

Disadvantage of buying this model

1. the model operate on IR hence once flying is limited to indoor or late evening flying :(
2. since the model is a twin motor type - prolonged left or right can dramatically reduce the model altitude  :(
3. if motors in the model heat up there performance drops and the model had to be trimmed again and again  >:(
4. charging time are above 15min or more like 20 min  :'(
5. the charging cable should have been bit longer.
6. the no-off switch on the model should have been located some where other then the bottom (some times the model switches off if it hit some thing in a low pass)  :'(

will try to post a video (i.e after 7pm only  ;D)

hello venkat

the model is powered by twin motor and it turns by varying the motor speed and the AUW of the model is 8grams. If you are asking about flight times it varies from 5 to more then 10 min depending on wind conditions and flying style.let me know if u need anymore details

i have a request for you lot of people are asking me where can i buy this,the main guys from Chennai i have given there details in the previous post so can you dig up anything ?  :)

regards

sahil

guys yesterday evening when i was flying suddenly lost control over steering not knowing why took the plane back home and did some testing,to my surprise found out that the model was proportional and had small pots on the sticks tested this with a tachometer there a change in RPM  ;D and the reason the i lost steering was because of low battery in the TX about 6.9volts

yeah IR R/C for 460/- never though was possible,will try to post a video

bye

Sahil posted the phone number of the wholesaler in Chennai (Tel:   044-25352058), so try giving them a call to see who in Calicut is getting it from them.

Or you can walk the malls (and may be places like SM street in Calicut) yourself to find it :)  Please do report it here, if you find it !

i think someone from Chennai/neighboring regions can help us out
he can buy it for some of us who need it[including me-i m ready to take it ]
then post it
and we can pay the costs
waiting for them especially Mr.Sai to respond
btw i found out a customs shop[confesticated foreign goods shop] where he says he has such confesticated planes being sold at low prices[a 2ch rc car bought from him costs rs.200-250 while from other toys shops costs rs.350-500 ]
so after his stock is renewed[he is out of stock currently] with new planes/helis of such kind to fly or do RnD like me i can help u out get it
u all can try to find such shops in your cities[there are 2+ in each good city as per my brothers observation]
