Title: beginner aerobatic plane???
Post by: mandargole on February 27, 2011, 09:42:02 PM
hello everybody,

i'm mandar. i'm from pune. i'm mech engg. student and i participated with my team on 25th january at iit kharagapur in laws of motion, an event of self-built airplanes. we secured third place. for this we were guided by an aeromodeler Mr. Khare here in pune itself. He guided us well and hence the fruit. we are now flying for just 2 months and now want to learn more. hence we just want to build a new plane which we want it to be a little more aerobatic. we think that we should stick to high winger style also for few months more. couple of names we could think are royal coachman, taylor e2 cub, j3 cub, etc. where can i find plans?

i'm attaching photos of our plane.

Why dont you just make a new straight wing with ailerons.

make some flatouts .....i suggest extra and edge
or you could go for regal but its not a flatout but very agile

we don't want to make any changes in this plane coz it's cool calm stable. it was a glider previously and now we have powered it with dc brushless 1400kv outrunner motor.

so the thing is we're going to build a new plane.

you may want to try mikeyrc's sport trainer. Here's the link http://www.mikeysrc.com/Sport-Trainer.html, but you'll have to be more specific about what aerobatics you want your plane to do. The mikey's rc one is for beginners so im guessing that it may work out for you.

Like you said a beginner aerobatic plane i will say go with a standard low wing airplane.. but learn to fly a low wing plane first using the same electric setup. Search the internet for the plans, another shortcut is use the same airplane with a symmetrical aerofoil.
