the motor is a2212 1000kv  , prop is 10*4.5
will it fly with the 2s lipo?

Hey Manu, It will fly with 2s lipo, but for very short duration.

1000kv motor with 1045 prop and 1000mAh 2s lipo runs for maximum 3.5 mins @ half throttle. No more than that.  I have tested it, so I know.

I hope this helps.

hello all, recently I started working on this plane again. This time it involves a bit of an experiment. The cubic wing loading of this plane is about 9.9 (aerobatic), so I thought of upgrading it into a docile version. I had to find a way to decrease the cubic wing loading somehow. I bought two sheets of ordinary thermocol , cut it into two identical wing halves , applied diluted fevicol (fevicol with water) on it and wrapped it with newspaper. The wing dimensions are 1100mm (span) X 250mm (chord). now when I did run the math on it, the cubic wing loading has been reduced to 5.2 . Used reap wood as spar. I hope it flies. Roughly following KFM airfoil pattern. same electronics. The AUW of the model is 760 grams. pics.,,,

I have a damaged (broken antenna) receiver of rcb6i radio.. if someone can troubleshoot it, i can send it so that it may be put into use.. I tried soldering the antenna back and I think i have messed it up a bit.. pics.. pm me if someone wants that receiver..

@manu
Guess you learnt about cubic loading and decided to apply that knowledge.

But the tail too has some relationship to the size of the wing.

Did you notice that the stab/elevator now looks disproportionately small?

@prabal sir, let me see how it lands. Wings are mounted using thick rubber bands.   @Iyer sir, They (tail fins) were designed according to the previous wing dimensions. I did think of increasing the area of the control surfaces. Should I do it before maidening it?

The rudder and elevator are for control. They are adequate.
The stab and fin are for stability. They need to be enlarged in proportion to the wing.

BTW, is there a big gap between the wings and the fuselage?
And what are these big sticks taped to the wing?

Perhaps a lot more cleaning up is required...
If it doesn’t fly, you can always drop in at our place for help.

tried flying it today morning, took off slowly and gracefully but the plane couldn't gain altitude, it flew about 2 meters high from the ground, threw in rash elevator movement but for no gain in altitude, then I noticed that the thrust from the propeller is so low. I have not been using (neither charging nor discharging) my lipo for the last 10 months.. I think the battery has lost its mojo.. Cheesy .. the spare lipo is 2s.. Sad

made a minimalistic spad, 3 channels = throttle rudder and elevator.. used a single corro sheet 92*45 cm in size, which was high up on an electric post  Wink >Cheesy . Flies like a bee on a 2s lipo

dimensions are

wing span = 92cm
chord= 22cm
fuselage length=70cm
electronics= a2212 1000kv bldc motor, 9gm servos (2). 10*4.5 prop, 2s lipo. rcb6i radio

Well done.
Made in India to defeat Flite Test at their own game!
I doubt if any RC model can be made at less cost...
Is it controllable with no ailerons and no dihedral?

It’ll fly better if you remove that huge undercarriage...
Regards

@Iyer sir, thank you sir for those words of appreciation. I flew it today and it was windy. Used high rates 99% on rudder and elevator. I had to lower the throttle to make a sharp turn though.. I am not so confident in hand launching planes yet and that is why I have a big landing gear on it Smiley.

Flew it today morning in  almost a zero wind condition. The plane banks to one side and doesn't recover when rudder is applied for the plane to bank on to the other side so added ailerons just now. Can't fly now because of heavy wind. I think dihedral is a must on three channel airplanes if its not the bank and yank type..
