Couldn’t keep myself from building another model. After building and enjoying ALULA, I wanted to build good Soarer… Plank design was interesting…may be swept-forward, heard that they are better soarers….
ALULA was swept-forward design, it was pretty gentle, so started looking for new design…found some interesting Plank designs. They are simple amazing, I loved it, so decided to build Chinook-2.
Though it is swept back but more like plank, and soars like anything. Wanted to try it out at mountain top in high winds.
For initial testing I used 10X6 prop but will use 10” or 9” folding prop. For fuse currently using 10x10mm sqr CF tube, with metal motor mount and biofoam supports for wings and some coro to protect motor while landing.
Wing is made up of 3mm Coro, flat bottom, with 10% thick aerofoil, aerofoil shape is given using coro only. Used CF rod as spar.
Wingspan is 60 inches, motor: 2212/1200 Kv, battery: 3s, 2200 Lipo, servos: 2xHXT 14gm metal gear, ESC: Plush 30A, with DX7 delta mixing.
