IN THRUST WE TRUST.....!!

after putting on lot of flying time on aerobatics , finally thought to go for some thing challenging...!
belgaum lies on the western ghats and we have lots of hills here... so lots of slopes. so planned to build a slope sorer

first did some modifications to add a motor ... as i am starting it and dont want to end up searching for the plane down the hill in some water body...!

thanks to col. GRK Nair for the plan for the sorer..

here are some pics as the construction started...

NOTE; the construction is not balsa but with coro and biofoam. any questions/ suggestions welcomed.

R/C Vish, what is the distance from the firewall to the LE? Have you thought about the battery yet?

there is enough distance... ! wanted to post the pics but they are high resolution( some 6-7 mb each)
will get some low size pics and post

battery is 1350 rihno 3s..i am a bit doubtful about the motor if it will carry... it equals out .15 engine when calculated the thrust but lets see...!

I am not sure but the model plan looks like Roger J. Broom's slope soarer and this
model had 'anti-vortice' tips. modification details may please be given so the thread followers will benefit. As this is being converted to powered model conversion details will help for others who are building similar model.
My wishes and congratulations to the modeller R/C vish.
    Thanks,

yes you are absolutely right friend......! this is the " Roger J. Broom's slope soarer"

it has anti-vortice tips which was nothing but curved tip... managed to curve the biofoam...!
the details of the power setup is given above.!

some mods
wont be using the rudder, so no control for the rudder.
for the wing which as a thickness of 15mm. 2*6mm biofoam with a 4mm coro at the bottom was glued the hinges were cut out of the coro itself( the most easiest method to make hinges for a coro)

after sanding the wing to the airfoil shape as desired by the ribs. found out that the wing is flexible and still gave me around 3mm less than required. so will be adding another 3mm coro at the bottom to add strength  and thickness.! pics follow.!
