One can become a hero just by asking questions  ;) So no problems there.

My apologies to Ujjwaana for posting this query here, but I felt this was the best place to do it. Hope this is not construed as an attempt at Thread Hijacking.

Almost finished the airframe of my Raptor and now I am stuck at a juncture which involves both aesthetics and aerodynamics. Please help me sort this out.

The first diagram shows the nose of my Raptor as it is now (Profile seen vertically from above). The second diagram shows what I feel it should be - both in terms of aerodynamics and scale appearance. I will be using a 2805/1400KV blm to power this baby.

Please advise if the nose shape will make a major difference in handling characteristics/aerodynamics.

Cheers!

VC

Opps!! its been long I started the thread and no steam. Adding the teaser... completed almost 80% of the build with Motor mounting, Rudder and painting/artwork left.

Video after the Tail was joined and servo linkage done. Was a coincident that Radio Indigo played such a relevant number while I was filming the Tail  movement.

Apologies for the spooky video which I took myself while holding the Tx in my other hand. I had no one to help filming as my flatmate was already asleep and I am still to make Cap-Cam, without paying any royalty to Ashta !

Would be posting the step by step build pictures to help other newbies.

Nice build! I built one using 3mm depron and it flew awesome. I coupled the ailerons with the tail for faster control reaction.

heres the vid enjoy!

Finally Maidened the plane last month in Hoskote. Had couple of flight in my backyard, before very high wind took the plane in the the Colony  and I have to crash land it.

I just loved the plane too much and am building another one with 28" WS and 3400Kv Motor. Should be quite a Speed Daemon!
F-22 is probably most stunning mored day plane, with design inspired form Alien planes!! I cannot compare its profile with any planes I saw in AeroIndia 2011! Love to see them flying with IAF some day.

That's really great Ujjwaana.
I have seen maiden of your F-22, I know this fact that how well you have made it.

Enthusiasts like you are indeed asset to RC hobby.
I like latkas and Jhatka F-22 in middle of night, that also after your flatmate was asleep.  ;)

Keep it going buddy.

My 28" F/A-22  is almost ready. It could be seen left in the picture. Made of 4mm Biofoam, KFM2

Also could be seen on the right is Sadman's 3mm Coro F/A-22, also nearing completion.

one more thing, for KFM2 have u used same thickness biofoam, or more thick, like 8mm or something....

I can see two layers in this one, is there some airfoil thing going on there ?

@Ash: Yes it is the same  thickness Biofoam (4mm, I would have loved putting a thinner one, if I had). But at the trailing end, I have put another strip of 4mm between the lower and top ones.
I initially planned to put a 4.1x4.1 on a 3400kv motor. But now i am planning to put a 2350kv Motor with 6x4 EPM Prop:

LOTS of power!

@SLS: Missed to mention, the Coro one  is also a KFM2, with a Biofoam on top.
