Hi all!  Grin
i finally recieved my cessna 150 40" kit from IHC today! (finally!!)    --- :Rs:1000
here is today's progress...

this is the 1st wing... there was one horrible Rib, R2, which just refused to stick... i tried everything from feviquik to Araldite... finally i got it to hold with a thin coating of fevibond....!

these are the completed wing frames....
http://i46.tinypic.com/2l8wy6r.jpg

the wings are covered with Balsa sheets from the top, with the bottom open... may wrap the whole thing in oracover later....
these are the wings and sheeting...

Next i went around to the fuselage... i wanted to make the nose wheel and rudder move with the same servo, so i had to build a rig to make the nose wheel turn... i had some spare balsa lying around, so using that, i constructed a clamp-y, holder-y-ish, thingy for the wheel.

this is the wheel in the holder, just before gluing the top on to seal it...

and this is the wheel sealed and fitted...

then i constructed the tail fin, the stabilizer, elevator and rudder. still have'nt hinged the control surfaces , or fitted the control horns.
here's the fin and stuff.

this is the completed day 1 build.

and here is a non vandalized version... Tongue

that's all for today! after a good nights (morning) sleep, i will finish the rest of the model! Grin Cheesy
right now i am gonna collapse on top of the computer....

what's left
cutting ailerons myself, because the kit is a 3 channel model
sheeting the wings, and joining them
setting up the servo's and other control surfaces...

enjoy!

Yea Shannon... The landing gear is a little high... More so with the wheels... After building if I still find it high, then I'll replace it with a plastic one

Whatever hard work you've put in it is commendable. Really, it's beautiful that too making on your own without any help .

DAY 2!

ok.. here is the build log for day 2... Grin

Started of with covering the wing frames, with balsa, and creating ailerons... (because the kit doesnt have ailerons prebuilt....)

http://i45.tinypic.com/2e0uw07.jpg
Cessna 150 Kit Build

after that i went about setting up the servo's, control rods and elevator and rudder....
i only had horns for 2 control surfaces,(came with the kit), so i have still not connected the ailerons to servo's... Sad

this is the Rudder servo:-

http://i45.tinypic.com/5yrw5z.jpg
Cessna 150 Kit Build

...and the same from above...

http://i48.tinypic.com/qqpe6d.jpg
Cessna 150 Kit Build

i powered up the receiver, and connected all the servo's for the first time.... then went around to program and trim each one...
then PROBLEM  Shocked Shocked
one of the servo's wasn't working... i checked it with other channels, but it was refusing to move... didn't buzz or anything... just sat there lifelessly while the other 3 servo's were bouncing about.... i sent a mail to RCB... if i can get it replaced then good... Smiley otherwise Sad

anyways,
this is the completed and covered wing (stamped "wing")

http://i47.tinypic.com/3582u6x.jpg
Cessna 150 Kit Build

underneath the "servo and other electronic stuff bay", i put a little flap, that i can open and close to access the parts... it closes nice and tight Grin

Cessna 150 Kit Build

after that, i finally joint the wings together, and mounted them on the top of the fuselage...

Specially for SHANNON,
here's a profile view, with wheels and undercarriage....
 Giggle Grin Tongue Tongue

that's it then.. today's progress...thats my Tx... FSTH9x.... Grin

What's Left

fitting motor, ESC LiPo
rigging the Flaperons
covering it with Oracover or something similar... (suggestions welcome)  Giggle
