Just wanted to share my first Glider made out of Coroplast. (Sunpack and Sunboard).

This is based on the popular Glider Soaring Eagle TW-738.

This was made from all discarded stuff so was really interesting. Sunpack and sunboard from discarded signboards. Simcard plastic for Control horns. Cycle spokes and some plywood. The inspiration came from a couple of brilliant students who are developing flying machines from almost anything that is light and strong.

Has 2servos and Brushless setup with 1050mah Lipo. The Wing will be a Foam Wing. Will try Coro wing on the second set which we are planning to build. Will maiden it this Sunday.

Update on the glider. It flew very well but with Major modifications.

When the cg was checked then was way too tail heavy. This was a design flaw on my part as the original glider had a brushed motor and Nimh battery which is by design heavy so it could balance the weight.

My setup was brushless and lipo so the glider was tail heavy.

Solution we did on the field was to move the wing back to make the cg correct. Lots of sponge and foam packing to stop the wing movement and rubber bands.

We had a total of 3 flights. All were excellent when compared to the original glider. It required some minor trimming to make it fly level when the power was off. Interesting was when the cg was ok at ground and in air with level flight and power off it behaved like it was front heavy. After landing we checked the cg and it was as before the flight.  We tried shifting but we ended up with trimming.

Now i have put a larger battery 2300 mah lipo to balance the weight and have moved the wing back to the original. The cg i still tail heavy but not that much. Will try next Sunday to see its performance.

No video as we fly in the airport. I will try to take permission next time and post something.
