Hello All,
I had built a CORO SPAD as my first attempt, but the box type shape could not given satisfaction and feel of a real aircraft, which can increase the heart beats, Perform Aerobatics and fun in flying, so I intent to build my second scratch build as CORO MIG 7  because of the beauty of MIG and easy building from Coro sheet.
One of reason which inspired me, that most of the designs which we considered are box type, so I want to  make some more shapes from CORO.
Thanks to Dave West for free Plans. Plan was downloaded from site http://westaero.wingedshadow.com
Objectives
•   To get feel of Aircraft and perform Aerobatics
•   Good  aesthetics of model
•   To Demonstrate the easy building from CORO sheet with beauty.
•   Since Coro is easily available and models are likely crash proof, so to motivate beginners to build models from CORO
•   To demonstrate, that we can build more other shapes also from CORO.
I will follow the original plan and use 3 mm coro for entire build.
Need help and support from all seniors and other members of forum.
Thanks and Regards
Mjet

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

Use wing spar to fix and use coro covering for better look and stop longitudinal movement of landing gear assembly that seen in single wire landing gear.

Here is the progress , I am a slow builder…
Completed the wing ( Flat Bottom)  - Glue used ( Rubber based and Hot Glue)
•   Used Pine wood spur and screwed together
•   Dihedral 4 Inch as per plan
•   Wing Span – 45 Inch
For Landing gear  – Wood block installed inside of wing

Coming up nicely Thumbs Up

If you want ideas on the landing gear, look at the TeaRacer builds too.  They are fairly similar low-winger models.

Thanks Anwar for Moral boosting .. pl review , that what I did for Landing Gear..
I decided to put landing gears made from Cycle spoke ( Gauge 10,  3 mm ) , so glued ( Rubber based ) wood block and small pieces of Ply to provide some space for screws.
This may also provide some strength to spur.

I have completed the Fuse , but the weight of wings and fuse is some higher than expectation ( about 500 gms).

After  torque rod installation  on wings , I doubt , that HXT 9 gms ( 1.5 Kg)  servos will work , need suggestions from forum. Will upload the pictures soon.

Good one Mjet, and I agree with you that the box shaped planes though easy to make with coro are boring beyond a point. I too downloaded the plan+buildlog from the Davewest link but lack the will to start. Iam currently making one box shaped mid winger in coro. Maybe when you complete and post the maiden video I'll push myself to try this out  Grin ..
How you made those round formers btw? using wood? did you sand it to shape?

Thanks koushik for good words, round formars made from coro only. Ply formers are not required , we can double the coro formers.

I used only two ply formers and filed to round shape. you can file and get the desired shape very easily by using RUSK File. I have made the wooden propellar for this model by using this Rusk File. will post the pictures of wooden prop making process.

Hi Sameer,

As mentioned above , that the local name of Coro is "SUNPACK" and you must get it in Nagpur. You can search with the shops , who are involved in Screen Printing.

The prices varies between Rs 100 - 140 for 8x4 sheet.

Today I have taken maiden flight of My MIG, but model was moving in a circle (antilock wise) on ground and not able to take off  Bang Head. Tail wheel was Ok.

After adjusting under carriage, model has take off (20-30 feet only), but unstable and back to ground (left side).

Requesting members for suggestions to correct the model.

Thanks and Regards
Mohan

High spirits we have: gravity we flout.

You should try hand launching it till you trim it out then go for ROG. Was the CG accurately marked and the model balanced; sound like a tail heavy plane. Not sure tho, a video would have been very helpful Undecided

Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

Not too sure, but check if the model weight distribution is OK, i.e. hold at spinner and end of tail and see if it balances. Also, is the Tail & Vertical Stab properly square? Any warp in the wing or control surfaces?
