Title: Electrification of a Sharma Model ACE Highwing Trainer
Post by: rcforall on November 06, 2012, 05:03:46 PM
Finally got back to a large electric conversion .
The reason I say got back  is because that is where I started Electric RC from ( Great Planes  PT 60 ) conversion .

Sharma Model Ace is a great Highwing trainer  Manufactured by Sharma Models right here , mind you it is not one of the cheap stuff you get around .
It has a FRP Fuse and a Balsa Wing covered very professionally and designed to take  quite a beating .
It is more in line with the Kyosho Calemento  but far more rugged  and capable of lifting good payload.

Normally flown with a 0.46 +  engine this  bird is a beauty .

My Set up :

I Flight 4120/700 KV Motor  ( could do with a 3520 motor  but my plans for her is to be some sort of a heavy lift vehicle )
I flight 60 amp ESC with external BEC
Gens Ace 14.8 V 6200 mah Battery
APCE : 14 x 8 Prop
Hitec 225 HB Servos x 4 ( the original  has a single servo for the Ailerons but I personally prefer independent servos hence the Mod.)

Converted from Tricycle to Tail Dragger.

How would the performance be on a 3536 960 KV Brushless? And what would be a good battery to use in that case?

the 3536 will be too small a motor for this model  as it is a 2814 eq.
What I am talking of here is  http://rc4all.co.in/product_info.php?products_id=512

I  go with is  a Gens Ace  4 S 6200 mah + planning to up it  to 8000 mah
