Hi friends,

I bought Sky Surfer V2 from RCBazaar.com My first online bought glider/plane after scratch built RCpowers Extra300
this one http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/1063-sky-surfer-v2-with-motor-esc-servos.aspx

Specifications:
Motor: 1950kv brushless outrunner (bundled)
ESC: 20A brushless (bundled)
Servos: 4 nos of 9gms servos (bundled)
Battery: Wolfpack 11.1V Wolfpack 2200 mah 20C lipo (my own)
Battery: 7.4V 1100 mah (my own)

So I bought this around mid oct, delivery charges were Shocked 1500 Indian Rupees to Mumbai, so I asked my friend to pick it up as he was traveling to Mumbai.

When I got it I checked all the electronics for about 5-10 mins running, and found all fine Thumbs Up. I assembled it completely today only and found motor making weird noises and stopping  Huh?, also ESC was also getting reset (connected > got 3 beeps for 3s > throttle > motor runs n stops after few seconds > again 3 beeps > throttle..... Bang Head).

Help Me Can anybody tell me what might be the prob?? ESC or Motor?
I will be contacting RCBazaar as well.....

check out the vid....

 Thanks in advance

Sounds like a low-voltage cutoff on the ESC? What is the battery voltage?

@bhaveshsangani: I canot check ESC and motor connection as particular sky surfer model has ESC and motor in foam by default and foam is glued. so to check motor esc connection i will have to cutoff some part of foam.

it is the last resort. for now awaiting for battery to recharge completely...

Pls do not cut any foam parts. The motor wire and ESC can be removed as easy as pulling the wires out and can be fixed back. Also pls call Dilip at RcBazaar store 080-41738892 if you still are facing issues.

@RcBazaar: Hi sujju, i wont be cutting any foam parts before consulting RcBazaar. I'm not sure but should I pull motor out directly? and ESC as well? wont it break anything?
Yes I will call Dilip, I'm not sure if RcBazaar is opened on sundays.

@ hyd_quads, avesh: Guys I charged the batteries full both 2s and 3s.... still the same issue....

If you have a multi meter, the motor any two wires will show continuity

Remember
To first disconnect motor from esc

"the motor any two wires will show continuity" i did not get this...
You need a multimeter to do this. It basically tells you if the windings are in O.K or not.
Multimeter is very essential if you're into electric RC.

@jjaaxx44... saw your vid and we reckon the issues "could" be in the ESC.. we will send you a new one tomorrow, let us know the results...
removal of the esc is quite simple.. just pull the three esc wires going to the motors (they are connected by bullet connectors and will easily come out)...
to fix them again.. insert a thread through the hole near the motor once the thread reached the canopy tie the esc wires to this thread firmly and pull the thread back again... and also pull the motor wires from this hole... go ahead and fix the ESC wires to the motors... run the motor and see if its turning in the right direction if not then interchange and two wires of the motor to esc..
hope this helps

regards

Hi Abhishek,

The problem is definitely with the ESC and Motor connection. It might have gotten pulled while handling. If you can see behind the motor mount there is a small window on the skysurfer, You will have to use some tweezers or forceps and pull out the connectors and check the solder joint and firm fitting of the connectors there.
But in your first post you also say that the ESC is refreshing with 3 beeps, That is purely a battery voltage issue and also it was not seen in the video.

dont run the battery till it "dies"... you dont want the lipo to run anywhere below 3V / cell or it will be tough to revive again...
