Hi ,

The Techone beauties Smiley

One of the best kits i have got...its a breeze to assemble them ... fly like angels ...
The EPP rocks... After opening the kit ... the EPP seems to be thermocol .. but the resemblance ends there...
Its tough, dosent break off after hard landings (And i do land really hard Smiley )... i crashed the edge a couple of times , but not even a dent....

Also gr8 for flying indoors... anyone else here tried them?

regards
pramod

No EPP yet.. but my Katana looks awesome!! I have overloaded it a bit.. It weighs at 430 gms AUW with a 1350 mAh 3s and the VPP setup and it is meant for around 300 gms... So wing loading is going to be quite high!! Hopefully it should fly fine!!

Any suggestions on reducing the weight.. I have just now ordered 3s 850 mAh Hyperion G3 Lipos!! That should reduce the weight by about 40 gms.  Any other suggestions?? And also is the heavier wing loading alright?? Huh?

And Pramod... am sorry for hijacking your thread  Wink!!

VTOL - Vertical Take Off & Landing

yes the shockfliers are a beauty to watch. I was there in thane when pramod bhaiya maidened his edge. the edge was great. i did not have time to see his Piaget fly  Angry Angry missed a great opportunity. And i would also love to thank the shock fliers and VPP as it saved me more than 200$. i am using the vpp setup to stabilize the roll action of the V22 VTOL as opposed to earlier i was gong to use the mammoth th-2 and many mixes and gyros the vpp has helped me a lot thanks to Chan bhaiya once again

Pramod,
What size battery do you have on these planes. I intend to use a 2204 with 7.4 with 850mAH as was recommended at RCforall. The plane (malibu) is expected to be close to 200gms.

My Experience with the Katana has been great .
My one key observation is Over loading and Over powering is counter productive .

One step above the recommended set up will be great but GROSS over powering has a negative impact on these models .

I have  tried the Katana with 850 mah , 1000 mah and 1350 mah batteries and the results have been very very visible.

Hence the motor recommended for the Katana is 2208 hence the max I will recommend is 2212

Same Way if the motor recommended is 2205 the max I will recommend is 2208.

I will not  recommend  using 2212/13 instead of a 2205.

Hi ,
Maidened the PIAGET yesterday evening in stiff sea breeze.

The plane is a breeze  Grin it flew  stable and great  with the following set up :

Motor : Turborix 1300KV
ESC 18 amp
Battery : 11.1v 850 mah
Servos : R & E : 9 gms power HD , A : 6 gms power HD
Prop : GWS 0947 ( 9 x 4.7 )

AUW : 287 gms

Aileron   push rod came off mid air  and the plane went into a kind of flat spin.
Landed a  hard  but absolutely no damage to the plane EPP is great .

Yesterday the wind was severe  but decided to go ahead with flying the Piaget in any case  Grin

Took off the additional stabs on the aileron's as they seemed to be literally pulling the plane in the face of stiff wind.

The flight was stable and the plane hovered beautifully into head wind , the EPP is  also  very durable  and a few hard landings did not even result in a dent.

Here is a short VDO , no 3 D as the wind was toooooooo stiff  and every time we lifted the nose  and got to vertical position the plane got pushed behind. Angry Angry
