Title: epp yak 28 going left (help)
Post by: hangingtough on August 14, 2012, 08:26:52 AM
Dear fellow pilots,

i build a EPPYAK 55 based on rcgroups plan. but this one goes left too much. i can adjust by aileron trimming but that makes the plane fly in abnormal direction.

I did not make rudder to reduce weight. total is nearly 230gms

my suspection
1 wing is cut abnormally
2 rudder is the only solution

Thrust angle could also be a problem, please post some pictures of the plane, motor mount and tail.

Dear

you need to check the below possibilties

1) Thrust line too left-add 1 or 2 washer on left side to correct the angle to center. It must be striaght or very little down i.e 1 degree OR

2) Check & measure the wing both side should be equal,if not correct them OR

3) Do a lateral balance meaning Tie the tip of nose or prop shaft & tip of tail with a strong thread & hang it up in Air,check which side the wing dips ,confirm it several time to check which side its fall, after you are satisfied add small weight on the opposite side to balance the plane paralell to ground OR

4) Check alerion tips if there are any wraps/bends on left side of wing & also the elavator.

5) Check for wing thickness on both side ,they must be same thickness.

6) if no Rudder, fly will be abnormal ,therefore add a rudder or check ther original plane.
