Here is an model named as EXTRA 300S. Which i will be trying to make.
Learned some from the vast knowledge available at this forum  .

I have one trainer model already , so this time thought of a 3D capable model. After getting some designs from umayash, select this one.

Started the build on Monday 17-03-2014.

Before starting the build covered the entire sheet with Clear packing tape, this makes the biofoam strong. also it ensures not to break during folding process.

The sheet used is 6 mm bioform or depron , i dont know .
some said it is bioform.
Sheet length is 1 X 1/2 meter.

after cutting the plans out, i noticed that my bioform sheet will nut suffice.

Wing part
As per the plans the wing is made by single sheet, but single sheet of bioform will flux in the air.
So to make strong wings i made the wing portion with two sheets by overlapping.
cut the wing part without Ailerons, then mark the same portion of wing on the opposite side, and cut out the sheet.
Scored the line at the junction of overlapping. 3mm portion of bioform is cut out at score point so that that wings can overlap easily.

Before fixing the two portions , cut out the space for the spar. Spar i used is a 4-5 mm wooden stick. flat from one side and curved from other, put the flat part at the bottom and glued with hot glue.
After the spar is fixed , its time to fold the two portions and make a single strong wing.
Put some fevicol and Hot glue at the ends and sealed the both half's.
The wing is complete.

When completed, try to emulate umayash's paint scheme too. Don't leave it white.

Good luck Manoj, just check with Gusty before you fly her. I had built mine ( Yellow 3mm Coro) about 3 years ago and he was spot on with the corrections that were needed.

Was out of foam sheet.
Further build progress.
Elevator is cut, beveled and stick with fiber tape. Used 2mm carbon fiber rod in middle.
Cut out the slot for upper Fuse to be fixed.

Fuse part cut out.
Rudder is cut out and taped hinge line with Fiber tape.

Wing is added with ailerons.

Attached the fuse and the wings with hotglue.
Later covered with some color tapes for decoration and orientation.

The plane came out to be way tail heavy.
have to use a 2200 lipo just behind the motor for CG balancing.
The controls checked at bench test are very responsive and the rate of deflection is very much.

Will the use of heavy lipo, will effect the flying too much ? Sure it has incresed the wing loading.

Electronic used
CF2822 1200 kv motor with 9' prop.
50 amp esc ( all that i have ready )
hxt 9gm servos 2 ( Rudder , elevator )
HK 9 gm orange servo ( ailerons )
72 mah RX.


One more concerned.....
What can be more done to avoid loss of signals in 72 RX ?rather then keeping it away from esc.
Will try to maiden tomorrow.

Nice build sir

Maiden done yesterday.
Flew beautifully, My fear of heavy lipo and more wing loading vanished , it flew of hands at 40% throttle.
Very much satisfied with this plane.

Landing was little difficult, as i have tendency to cut the throttle and glide my skysurfer to landing point.
Did the mistake and it fell like stone, at the point the throttle was cut. No damage except broken Prop.
