Title: first foamy rc in my workshop
Post by: avishekghosh07 on February 01, 2011, 02:29:51 PM
Hi! guys................
I'm Avishek from Pune.
I'm going to post my new foamy rc model. Encouraged by some aeromodellers in Pune and the members from Rc India forum.
So, i have made a workshop in my locality.
I'm going to post my first rc model made in my workshop. Before, this model i made some balsa and ply wood engine powered aircraft.
But this time i changed my view to foamy models bcoz these models are lightweight and easy to repair. Some of them are hand launched.......................

Let me explain about the materials i used.

Biofoam sheet (High density foam)-10mm(for fuselage), 8mm(elevator and rudder)
Fevicol
Decoration glue
Plywood (4mm)
Sand paper

Here are some pics.....

i'm posting the construction procedure to make this model.

for the fuselage,
first cut down the 5-6 fuselage shapes(depends upon width of fuselage) from 10mm sheet. Then joined the sheets to each other with fevicol and decoration glue.

After that made the stabilizers, rudder and elevator by 8mm sheet. Then rub it by sand paper for proper shape and smoothness.
Then i attached the stabilizers to each other and joined with the fuselage.

But one thing, the sand paper gave proper shape when i rubbed it.

if you want you can try to make this model by thermo-col also. you need to use cello tape and plywood for the strength in fuselage and stabilizers.

Next time coming with some pics of wing and complete model!..............

Is the SU-27 in the last pic a static model or flying one ? it looks fantastic!

ESC is placed at the front end(nose compartment) and servos are placed very closed to the stabs.
