Title: First Scratch build.Hope to join Sweepstakes
Post by: moorthy on March 21, 2014, 11:08:47 AM
Hi Friends and Senior members.

This is my first scratch build no name for this model just calculated the fuselage,V-stab and H-stab according to Wing span.In past i hate scratch build and profile rc plane and never thought of flying.

But after witnessing Johnnywalker and V2eagle scratch build model man i have wasted lots of money and time on PNF and ARF.Hope as beginner i should have started with scratch build.

My friends and brother who were not much interested on RC stuff now they too step in to help me.Am not aiming for prize just want to participate in sweepstakes and have fun.

Planning for 3 channel.

Specification.
Using Bixler box and Foam came with TV.
Wing span 36 inch and chord 6 inch
Fuselage 28 inch
H-Stab 12 inch
V-Stab 6 inch

Electonics
2826 2200 kv Ntm motor
30amp ESC
2X HXT900 servo
1800mah 2s 25c Lipo
7x5 GWS prop

Today day 1 will post pic by evening with news paper.Members help me out with you idea if am wrong.

Moorty , best of luck for the build.
if its puller or tractor than go will some low kv,
7'' prop with that motor will be too much load and can burn it.

waiting for your pics.

@moorthy
That 2200kv motor will turn over 15000rpm on a 2s.
A 7x5 prop will most likely be too much.
My 2200kv motor broke two 7x3.5 props on 3s
You may need to be in 6x3, 6x4 range.
Test your prop under safe conditions.
When you exceed 7000/10,000 rpm.
Cut throttle IMMEDIATELY if you hear a sudden change in tone.
Indicates flutter and imminent blade root failure.
Moral: use smaller prop on high kv!

Edit: search for electric prop safe rpm

@KK Iyer Sir

HobbyKing recommend 7x4 for 2826 2200kv on 2s LiPo but after your suggestion changed Prop to 6x4.

As you said thumb rule high kv small prop and large prop for low kv motor.

now planned to use low kv motor with large slow prop.
