Post by: sanjayrai55 on October 27, 2013, 07:10:52 PM
Built a FT Nutball. My wife promptly said it looks like a Ladybug!

Looks good!
The stripes are vinyl stickers?
Couldn't help but notice the FT Baby Blender in the background!

Crashed on maiden  >:D >:D

The wing folded along the centre-line in mid-air while doing a steep fast climb. Highly overpowered - 2826-1400KV on a 360 gm all-up-weight.

But the real problem according to me was I used 'biofoam' which did not have the backing paper on both sides. It was brittle, and just not strong enough. Repair was easy, will put some reinforcement and start again  ;D ;D

1 hour marking  :banghead:, 1 hour build, 1.5  hours electronics & controls

I filched the power pod from the Baby Blender - swappable means you got to swap  :giggle:

For the non covered biofoam they best way maybe putting clear packing tape on the whole surface to give it a little rigidity and fibre tape at joints, control surfaces and cuts etc.

Where did the pilot and the cockpit come from?

Keen observation as usual VC sir  :salute: :salute:

Had the pilot lying around for some years. The cockpit is from some kitchen stuff that came in a vacuum formed card pack  ;D. I generally purloin such stuff and stash away  ;) ;)

sir this is a beauty to fly in small areas mines had an motor wire issue, like the pilot concept on yours .once the cg is located it flys great . i put clear tape all around the edges of the circle dint get a chance to rip then was thinking of getting back to it ....let see

Oh, it flew just fine.

But the wing centre was weak, and it could not take the load of some basic maneuvers. Anyway, repaired it, let's see this weekend  ;) ;D

The repair took around 20 minutes, just some hot glue & packing tape  ;D

Here's a video taken today
