Title: High AR 59" flying wing sailplane Post by: bmblb on January 12, 2016, 10:30:16 PM .....with a 3s 610, she weighs just over 350g, and a WL of 4.5 opsf, RTF.
Here's my all new High AR 59" (59 x 5.5" )flying wing sailplane with wire cut foam wings(Clark Y). ...the span and chord were a result of the available/salvaged foam... Pic 1. Slabs salvaged. Pic 2. 5 cores cut Pic 3. 5 cores rejoined to form two wing halves. Pic 4. The batch of wings :) EDIT: Its 59in span and not 56 as posted earlier. Title: Re: High AR 56" flying wing sailplane Post by: bmblb on January 12, 2016, 10:34:51 PM few more pics.....and a video of maiden flights ;D

Now that the CG and general flying characteristics have been tested, I intend to try this wing for sloping (the WL is well within range).....it should weigh about an ounce less (21 g motor, ply motor mount, screws, foam, BEC without bullet connectors).....or with a WL of 4.13 opsf....
...just need t build another pod ;) EDIT: This one is built as a glider/saliplane and flies like one - the flight in the video is more to capture it within frame and hence looks like any other flying wing.
