Title: Highly recommended for new flyers in India
Post by: chiefsrinc on May 07, 2012, 02:04:10 AM
The biggest challenge we used to face in India (<2004) was the lack of flying space (in Mumbai) and of course the cost. Even though things changed a lot after I moved to the U.A.E., eventually got around to a stage where finding place for a quick fly has again become a challenge. 2 machines however that have not let me down even now in terms of their ease for a newbie like or me or the space they need are the TW Cessna 745 and the Cox Sky Ranger. Looking back now, I would have loved to have these back then!

Both are cheap with the former being from China and the latter from Hobbico / Cox. I  believe the Sky Ranger too now has a chinese copy. So try and google to see what you can find on these for delivery to India.

Would love to hear from others about these.

regards,

IMHO, after teaching so many, off late in this new world (We started with a OS 46 powered Anwar models with so much of restrictions), Glider like the Sky Surfer, AXN, Bixler, Easystar two are the best for newbies extremely forgiving, easy to fly, slo mo landing, easy to understand approach flare out and touch down. no requirement of a flat field, break it into pieces sticks back easily and off you go again. lot of such advantages, of late i have changed ship, to these gliders :)

Aye sir! The EasyStar is what me to fly (whatever little I know that is!). I still have it with glue and tape all over it and other mods. But I dare not fly her in the restricted spaces around me nowadays. Thats where the Sky Ranger scores. One of my local friends here has actually flown it between lamp posts and landed on the sidewalk!
