Dear friends, this is a small 3 channel plane which i have built. here is the build strategy:

Wing: 2mm biofoam rolled over sunboard ribs and balsa spars for support.

fuselage: 6 mm bio foam with balsa skeleton for support.

Elevator and rudder are made out of biofoam.

The plane decals are self cut from coloured tapes.

Regards,

Dr. Kittur.

the plane is completed and test flown. It flew really really well. I have added winglets for roll stability after the maiden flight.

I will soon post the videos.

Regards,

Dr. Kittur.

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

Doc

There are some disconnects in you build and the finished thread, they are not the same aeroplanes, wings are different, there is one extra rib in your finished wing (Which doesn't have a newspaper), and the fuse of the newspaper, dimensionally is different from the aeroplane.

I am sure sir, in the available time and looking at the speed of your build, you can make one more legitimate one, All the Best  Thumbs Up

Dear friends,
There appears to bean extra rib because the wing tip is not included in one of views without the newspaper.also the fuselage length appears different because of oblique view.I assure you they are the same.Believe me.

dear friends,
As the 2mm foam appeared weak,it was strengthened with an additional rib inside the wing tip.So apart from the central rib used for the dihederal ,the wing has 5 ribs including the one at the tip.The rib was added to prevent fluttering in flight.

The aircraft was completed before my cessna. Since Dr. kittur was busy and did not have technical proficiency in resizing the photos and uploading them on the blog, it took time for him to upload the photos.
I would like to point out some things here:

1. the wing in the photos does not have winglets. We took maiden flight and found that the aircraft needs roll stability. So we added winglets and found the plane to be extremely stable.

2. The photos taken were during construction and i believe dr. Kittur did not take snaps after a spar was added. So, the completed aircraft does contain a spar on the wings, which is not perceptible in the photos.

Well, I agree that photos should have been taken reflecting every construction step and final appearances with newspaper in background. But, in Dr. Kittur's defense, I would say that he had been really really busy in his routine work plus in packing for his USA trip. ( Dr. is in USA for about 2 months. he left this week) He built this plane in his clinic whenever he could get time. Even though the difference that Mr. rcpilotacro has pointed out in the wings (a very good observation though), i testify that the wing is same. The pictures should have described the change with newspaper in background. To sum up, the plane was built quickly for the sweepstakes, made beautiful in looks and flies really really fantastic! Hats off sir!
