Title: Material to design Trainer RC Plane - first RC Plane Post by: garrytan on June 21, 2020, 11:52:18 PM Hello ,
I am new in RC plane hobby . As starter aircraft I have designed using A2212 1000 KV BLDC, 11.v 2200 mAH battery with sG90 servo for rudder and elivator( I choose not to have ailerons as I am beginner and it's hard to learn with 3 controllers + Thrust) Now I could not find better matrial to design aircraft as in local market best I could get is cloroplast so I choose 5 mm sheet of it During first few flights , my propeller broke and aircraft look lil heavy ( CG is balanced at airfoil peak) and Airfoil designed using wooden stick .wing length is 80 CM . My question are 1. is battery I am using too heavy (180 g approx) 2. Which material I can use that is available easily in India ? Please suggest Title: Re: Material to design Trainer RC Plane - first RC Plane Post by: THE RC GUY on June 22, 2020, 08:35:35 AM If you design the plane properly then it should not be an issue,i flew a 1.3kg plane with the same setup a few years ago
very important point ::: search and read old threads on the topic and i would recommend you to make the plane under 0.5-0.7kg Title: Re: Material to design Trainer RC Plane - first RC Plane Post by: THE RC GUY on June 22, 2020, 08:43:54 AM Hi,
1-----You must have dihedral/polyhedral/aileron for stability 2-----CG should be balanced at 25%-33% from the leading edge 3-----Do not design your first plane on your own, download any plan(flite test plans are recommended) and make it out of depron/coro best of luck, message to clear any other doubts Regards |
