TO ALL new to micro rc and especially wanting to use coil actuators.

Notes:

1. Standard micro receivers will not accept coil actuators directly one needs a driver in between like an rc micro actuator driver.

That's a very good receiver if you are aiming micro with Futaba Tx. I have four of those receivers.

After removing the paper covering Its just around 2 gram. You can use 1.7 gms linear servos.

sundaram sir,
or
sahilkit

need your guidance...with this RX you used...have some questions for you also please help Help Me
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__22691__frsky_tfr6m_2_4ghz_6ch_micro_receiver_fasst_compatible.html

what micro set up (prop,motor,esc....) did you use for this rx Huh?Huh?
is it 1s compatible?Huh??
is this the plug which connects to chn3/throt/  and the loose ends to the esc  Head Scratching  http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9766__JR_Servo_Lead_Male_30CM_10pcs_set_.html

so basicly if using a esc like in the pic below ,then we need to cut the  1mm JST plug wire (in the pic)of the receiver connection in the center  and join a futaba wire like this to esc .... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9766__JR_Servo_Lead_Male_30CM_10pcs_set_.html
or can we remove the 1mm JST plug wire from the esc and  solder this wire direct to the esc,is  this correct Huh?

sundaram sir, i guess you busy....but this is  just a reminder about information on actuator drives.waiting patiently...thank you sir Bow Bow

Those receivers are best used with 2S with an ESC with BEC. Though it will function with 1S, will have brown out issue near empty 1S lipo.

Each receiver comes with its own set of five micro connector plugs and pins with which you can crimp you own servo connectors.

Before I post complete detail with photos, circuits and DIY on how to let me just say that you can use a simple old gear damaged servo circuit with little mod to function as actuator drives easily. It will not be very proportional like the actual one but it just functions ok.

you can even use them as motor drivers with little mod. Better still as reversible motor drives.

I was actually thinking of doing that (close the loop with hall-effect sensor).  Smiley

Just replace the potentiometer with same value 50:50 resistance bridge with 1/8 ceramic resistance which will simulate pot in center position. Now you can drive an actuator through motor connection. Even drive a motor in reversible mode.  Similarly if you shunt center tap to one side and replace with same value single resistance  on outer pins Then it will function as unidirectional motor drive. It's not very proportional like a ESC but I would say it at least has three steps of increment.
