Hello All,

I am also stuck like Roman as he was 2 years back. Futaba TX and want to make / fly Micro Indoor plane.

I am interested in something like TY black flyer.

After going through this thread i could not find a cheaper solution so did some search.
Need your comments on my findings.

I am planning to use V911 Heli parts. TX & Rx. As I understand ( I dont own Wltoys V911) if i do not use Tail motor ( which is the autonomous part) I can use the 2 RX servos and Main rotor motor to have a 3 Ch system.

Am i correct in my understanding.

Below are the Pics and links.

Hi saurabh, well i havent used or done this kind of set up i cant realy say much im sure some  genius on here who has tried this could help, and i could copy one day.  Thumbs Up Thumbs Up the best is to buy a rtf airplane (if its possible a good dsm2 model i do understand its not easy to buy thou but its my first option) use it to the core and then use the electronics but were do to we buy  etc etc etc Giggle Giggle.. this is less stress also and you dont loose anything once u have flown the airplanr  enough use the guts Giggle Giggle no loss

my suggestion is .....if you are looking to build fly Micro Indoor plange your main focus is weight......and only weight...auw. wait for suggestion on this set up .

This is my style of building......Take the night vapor for example auw 17grms. Now what i do is i find out 2things in this night vapor,1st airframe weight and the specs (measurements) and 2nd the weight ofall the remaining stuff thats electronics ...prop,gearbox motor...etc.

Electronics-i try getting the same set up as the night vapor electronics which is the worst part  Bang Head Bang Head
so now before buying anything i do my research like you ,find out the best set up to get the same weight as the  night vapor electronics this is important especially thrust, once i figured it out i buy the  electronics ready for the frame now

Airframe- now .once the electronics weight tally with the night vapor electronics weight and i feel i will get good thrust i start building the airframe depends on you balsa carbon..etc.......this is the difficult part and depends how you play with weight....build the airframe lighter than the night vapor if poss target weight 17grams.........my problems were mostly motor thrust.....which leads to under power, then if underpower we have change motor then weight goes up.....complications start so.....carefull with motor and prop you select u need good thrust because  while building ....were the weight comes from even i cant figure out till today. Giggle Giggle

So in short focus on the total electronic weight and motor thrust copying another model in mind eg like above the night vapor.
and then make your airframe as per the weight of your electronics to get it to the same  target weight of the model you are copying
....accordinly u will get an idea how light your airframe will be....if your motor has enought thrust u can also increase the wing cord for a slower filight.... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up all the best in your electronic hunt.....remember keep a model in mind stick to the same electronic weight little more thrust on the motor is always better .....hope this helps

Lessons i learnt-  pocket weighing scale is a must,cg, motor thust very impt, reduce weight were ever poss, first flight no no no wind at all, careful with landing fly near grass if motor shafts weak try making landing gear if poss, never buy stuff with out doing a good re searchthere may be more cant remember now Giggle

No problem.... you could just get all your electronics working check the weight the  motor thrust and start buliding as per the the weight u will do fine as long as u keep the weight 5grms atleast under the trust .build but light as possible.do let me know the total  electronic weight and thrust of motor would like to know. Thumbs Up

Hello All,

Progress so far waiting for stuff from Banggood.

Airframe weight 8Grms ( without filming the wings).... the weighing machine is not that accurate can be 2 grms here & there.

I am expecting somewhere 25 to 30 Grms .... not sure if will get this much thrust.

a lot of searching let me found this dsm2 micro receiver for actuators:
http://www.banggood.com/Origin-RC-Mi-RX32M-Micro-2_4G-4Channel-Universal-DSM2-Receiver-p-1013377.html
its only $28 that is a lot cheaper than deltangs receivers
you can find brushed motor easily
and for diy actuators :
http://www.rcindia.org/self-designed-diy-and-college-projects/magnetic-actuator-(home-made-scratch-build)/
there are other thousands of videos on diy actuator and how to connect them

Hello Ahmad,

I copied the same TY Model Black Flyer.

But unfortunately it is still at unfinished stage. I made another one very simple design out of Foam, which flew well and enjoying flying it so not in hurry to complete this Black flyer.... moreover trying to get some electronics for this model.

Roman have a look i thought you would see .... you are less RC active these days !!!!.
