Can anyone say why my plane is doing this? when lauching it goes straight but if a rudder input is given it tries to roll so fast. This is 3 channel plane. suggestions pls. https://youtu.be/-ndSPoujSik https://youtu.be/G5d0TusB08k https://youtu.be/5tsUMf8Jjv8 Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: kiran rc on September 07, 2015, 06:15:54 PM Recheck the rudder alignment on elevator, is it 90 degrees? And the perpendicular alignment on elevator.
Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: sanjayrai55 on September 07, 2015, 06:56:15 PM Suggestions:
1. Lower the CG. Try and put the battery as low as possible 2. Reduce Rudder throws. In the first video they seemed very high; and that is a large rudder area too 3. Put 40% exponential on rudder Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: sundaram on September 07, 2015, 07:54:03 PM +1 to Sanjay Sir,
Further Reduce Prop Size by at least 1/3 if not half. I hope you have given the 2 Degrees down and 2 degree right thrust to the motor mount. Move your CG at least 3-5% forward. Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: jana.f22 on September 07, 2015, 08:53:50 PM @kiran The rudder alignment is perfect 90 degrees,
@sanja rai sir, sundaram sir - using expo 60% and cg is slightly nose heavy, the recommended prop is 5inch. this is a5x5 prop. yes there is 2degree down and right thrust. even tried reducing the throw to 50% in the last video still the same. Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: sundaram on September 08, 2015, 10:02:38 AM I still think its tail heavy its not dipping nose when wings are level rather its climbing.
Only when banked its dipping nose which is but normal. Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: sanjayrai55 on September 09, 2015, 07:15:27 AM Also, check axial CG. As I said before - lower the CG too. Try temporarily fitting the battery to the outside of the model on the fuse bottom. A high CG will make it unstable in roll
Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: jana.f22 on September 09, 2015, 12:08:19 PM I ll try adding weight below the nose part.
Title: Re: Micro Spacewalker for 6th sweepstakes Post by: saikat on September 09, 2015, 12:53:42 PM here are some suggestions
mix in a bit of up elevator with rudder put some washout in the wings |
