Need SPEED

Maidened my Multiplex Acromaster yesterday :

Just 1 photo as of now as my camera battery ran out after it and Saju uncle was not there as well so no Video as well  Roll Eyes Tongue

Specifications :
Ari craft
Wing Length: 43 in.
Wing Area: 583 sq. in.
Wing Loading: 7.9 - 8.6 oz. | sq. ft.
Fuselage Length: 45 in.
Weight (English): 32 oz. to 35 oz.
Flight Characteristics: 3D, Pattern
Target User: Advanced-Intermediate

Power system :
RCFORALL DY 2820/6
ESC : 40 amp
Battery : 11.1V 2650 mah
Prop : 12 x 6 APCE
Servos : RCFORALL DY 0207 : 16 gms : Elevator Rudder
            Power HD 9 gms  x 2 ailerons

This is a big foamy with detachable wings so easy to transport   Shocked  .

Flight report :
1)Straight  take off without any deviation power was more than enough to get a climb angle of around 60 degrees +  at around 3/4th throttle .
 2) Rolls are amazing along the axis with  no nose drop despite heavy wind

3 ) 3 D with 12 x 6 was fantastic it went into a prop hang easily  and held the position well despite winds .
 4) Invert  flight was also very stable in fact could do  a circuit
 5) Stall  turns and flat spin : great quick to recover as well

I had a mechanical problem : both the nuts of  servo linkage fast connectors on the horns side came off during the third flat spin  and I lost aileron controls after I recovered from the spin the aircraft to quite a hit to the nose , but being multiplex the only damage was a loose Motor mount screw and a small crack to the cooling vent at the front of the plane .

Hope to be able to do some good 3 D learning on this plane it should give a lot of confidence  going by the hit the plane's front end took today   Grin

Venkat

Ya. time/space limitation. Would love to build SPADs at the earliest opportunity. Now, its more of park flying so electrics is the only option.

Getting a Ripmax P51 in pristine condition. Lets see how long it lives.

Flew the acro yesterday evening with a 11 x 4.7 prop , it was amazing :

Here is a mind boggling video of a Multiplex park master .
An Acro after a diet and some gym visits  Grin

This guy's flying is crazy:

The amazing thing is he hits the plane on the branches twice or thrice  and the plane  survives all this .

This Sunday the Acromaster was tested to its capacity in Crash resistance  Angry

I made a mistake of pluging 14.8 V ( 4S ) on a DY 40 amp ESC ( not rated ffor 4 S with In line BEC ) and it got fried and powered off the receiver   . The Acro lost total control in the air  at around 30 ft height  and crashed nose down BANG !!.  Sad Shocked Shocked

Saju and me got it back to 95 % of the original shape and strength with some serious precision HOT Gluing ( thanks to SAJU ) in around 1 hour including cooling time .

everything else survived and she will be air borne this week end  after just an hour or so of repairs  Grin Grin
That is MULTIPLEX  at its best  Clap Clap

Sai,
That surely is a great crash test for the product and one more addition to the "things to check for pre-flight". Can you also post pics of the plane after the fixing.

It was an unintended one of course  Grin Grin

I was stupid to assume that  a 40 A esc could take 4 S just because 30 amps  took it .
The 40 amp ESC specs says it  is rated for 3 S  with in built BEC and for any application of   4S and 5 S the BEC has to be disconnected  and separate BEC has to be used to power the receiver.
Hence it is most likely the BEC burnt up fast hence powering off the receiver all together .
Where as the 30 Amp esc is ok for 2-4 S  so the BEC is designed to handle 4 S.

You are right this needs to be make a part of the check procedure  prior to take off ensure ESC rating is suitable for battery voltage
