Most people use brakes for landing.
I guess the size of the model prompts it gain speed on the way down (unless you get generous support from flying against moderate to high winds). They are also used to slow the airplane for landing, if necessary.
However the above does not detract from the possibility of it being a - relatively - fast glider. I have a friend who has a JET powered glider that is simply awesome in its speed and aerobatic capability! How are you man ? The reason I said it would be a fast flight is for the obvious reason the over all body of the cularis.
