Hello guys ,
Im feeling extremely happy to share some experience of my 1st ever built rc plane . So, guys please direct me or correct me , if u find any flaws in my work. I hadn't seen & haven't flown any rc plane before , even kids plane also  :giggle:  :giggle: . Building something which can fly and can be controlled with ur fingures was the dreame of mine . But, after joining rcindia , it is getting converted into reality, so big bigg thanks to rcindia family.  :)  :)  :) .

Here r some pics of my work.

What power system are you using? The motor looks smaller with respect to Propeller in above pics. However I could be wrong.
Tell us about that Custom Prop saver and bottle cap Landing Gear.

Thanks.

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

Swapnil

Nice build mate!  {:)}
I liked that landing gear too! Like Sumeet said, that prop looks too big for that motor. Which motor and LiPo are you using?

Sumeet

One suggestion for those bottle cap wheels, Try wrapping a thin layer of Foam or something on the wheel (But keep increasing weight in mind). it would prevent the drift on hard surfaces and it will also absorb small shocks during takeoff run.

Nice Video By the way.
Cheers.

hello guys,
I have used the following power system:

motor:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__6547__TURNIGY_2204_14T_19g_Outrunner.html

esc:
http://rchobbyaddict.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=211

battery:
Desire Power, 800mAh, 20c ,2s, 42gms. - from sai sir .

servos:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__7476__Turnigy_1370A_Servo_3_7g_0_4kg_10sec.html
2- nos.

@sumit: Yes sir , the prop was looking quite heavier for that motor , actually dowell pin provided with that motor was very smaller in length , then i increased its length by screwing the pins of 2 pin socket from both the sides  :)  :) , and it worked for me , n now motor doesn't look small at all while rotating.
I didnt understand what Custom Prop saver means? it is just rubber bands that i hav wounded over the dowell.

@vc: thanks sir .

@swapnil: thanks and the bottle cap idea is not mine, its my mom's idea, full credit goes to her only  :salute:  :salute:

thank u !!!!

And one more thing , as i hav already mentioned that its my very 1st attempt of holding anything like this , can i take the maiden of it or i need to hav supervision. Im feeling quite scared .

Your prop seems bigger than recommended prop size of motor which is 7x3.5 to 8x4
If you are using bigger prop then be sure that motor is not sucking more amps than its rating. Otherwise your might end up in burning of your motor.  Also you will not get maximum performance from your motor if you are using prop other than the range of recommended props.

btw nice plane!!
If you can find any experienced flyer then it will be better as this is your first plane.
Practice on sim, it helps a lot.

Sumeet

Dear Saurab! Don't call me sir even if you are 2 yr old,  :giggle: .

-> You forgot to mention "what propeller are you using?"

-> My mean with that Custom Prop saver was "Whatever you did to make the motor shaft suitable for your needs." Those Dowel pins looks like pulled out of an electric plug, isn't it?

-> One more suggestion, Do a glide test before you actually fly it. Also Check CG twice. If they go correct, Then there is no reason for the plane itself to refuse from flying.

-> Have you ever been flying on Simulator? If no, care to do that first. Or find an RC buddy in your reach which can actually maiden it for you or teach you How to fly.

-> I too ask my mom or sister each and every time when it comes to choose a color scheme on my planes. They are great. And in this case, We are same.  :giggle:

Thanks.

Saurabh

many congrats on ur first built model,
as forum members suggested prop looks quite big for that motor

go for slow flyer prop 7 inches, and also as a beginner go for dihedral wing

I am a frequent visitor to mumbai, i can meet u one day

saurab

sorry guys for the late rply . Yeah, i actually forgot to mention prop , i hav used 8x4 prop.

As per the motor specs.

Recomended prop: 8040/2S or 7035/3S

So, i have used 2s batt, then 8x4 prop. should be ok , i think ...

@spitfire : I took its hover test 3-4 times, it worked fine , even esc also didnt heat up .
@Sumeet : Yes boss ! I wll not call u sir frm now after , by the way im 19 yrs old  ;)
And the dowell pins r not pulled out of an electric plug but actually,as i hav already           told , the pins of the electric plug have screwed up from both sides . And I haven't try on simulator also

@dhaksha_dx : The plan included the dihedral , n i also hav given it , by 1 inch from both the sides .
@prashant_rc : Thanks sir , for ur compliment n suggestion , as i have already mentioned , i hav used 8x4 prop. which is within recommended size . And , yes off course we wll meet one day , can u give me ur no. ? here is mine : 9821350821 .

Thanks for all ur replies ......n i'll surely consider all ur suggestions ....  :)  :)

pylonplane

please post a link of electronics which you have used in this plane (with links to buy the please)

saikat

pylonplane - did you read the thread ?

links to electronics have already been posted

prashant_rc

Sumeet

"Boss" is not good either.  ;)

Well If I was you, I would go with a prop smaller than listed. Like prashant_rc said, 7" prop would be enough.

But now as you already have 8x4, run the motor with this prop for few minutes on ground on almost full throttle. Hey but don't pull too much out of that battery, Keep this in mind. Always remember: Battery voltage shouldn't go below 3.7V per cell (ie; 7.4V for 2 cell battery). If the Motor or ESC gets warm or Hot? Go with a smaller prop. Otherwise you can go for maiden.

All the Best.

pylonplane

what was the total cost for building this plane?excluding tx and rx  :salute:

saurab

@prashant_rc : thanks sir , I hav noted down ur no.  :)
@Sumeet : thanks sir , for ur great suggestion , n i'll definitely think abt that 7" prop. But can u tell me the exact size like 7x2 or else...?
@pylonplane : As saikat sir hav told , the links hav already posted n if u ask me abt the cost , then u should sum up all the price frm those links , it may be around 3.5k- 4k , bt y r u asking such questions? search on the forum , u will get everything here, like me as a beginner have got everything frm zero .

thank u ....!!

- saurab.

Sumeet

The most common size 7" props are SF E prop 7x4, 7x5, and there are some GWS DD 7035 props also. Search on HK. You will find.

Thanks.
