Title: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 12, 2013, 10:30:47 AM hello everyone I took the courage and took the print out of the blubaby 42" kfm3 version now i am going to build the rudder and the elevator first. Then I'll build the wings then the monobloc then the fuselage.

Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: Mjet on October 12, 2013, 10:45:46 AM at the time of making landing gear , dont follow the traditional build for Blue baby, suggested technique of making landing gear is not OK. you can check my blue baby build log.

Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 12, 2013, 12:28:14 PM sorry for the poor quality of the pics
till now i have made the rudder and the elevator the cut outs are of waste quality thinking to sand them down and smoothen them Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: sanjayrai55 on October 12, 2013, 05:45:56 PM Go for it young man {:)} {:)} {:)}
All the very very best. BluBaby - great choice!! Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: umayash1 on October 12, 2013, 07:26:43 PM I Appreciate this, Making the Airplane is much better idea then making threads on the RcIndia..
Good Going   Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 13, 2013, 10:54:22 AM hello everyone I am thinking of using this power combo will it be good

Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 13, 2013, 11:00:48 AM Instead of using kfm3 I am going to use kfm2 airfoil
as kfm 3 will make the wing more thick. so is kfm2 equal to kfm3 in terms of lift produced. or I should go for other airfoil. I've made many changes in the plans Title: Re: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 13, 2013, 01:35:34 PM follow the plans to the t...! don't change unnecessarily!
Sent from a potato using a lamp Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 13, 2013, 02:39:16 PM I've changed only for the kfm2 and the slot where the elevator is going to fit in the fuse
please tell me a suitable airfoil Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 13, 2013, 05:10:54 PM use the kfm3... why change a tried and tested plan???
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 13, 2013, 05:12:52 PM use a 8*3.8 prop, as specified on the motor specs.... if you use a prop with too much pitch, it can strain and burn the motor...
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 13, 2013, 08:56:50 PM I have changed because the wings will be too thick then
Title: Re: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 13, 2013, 09:31:57 PM what thickness material are you using? post some pics...

Title: Re: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 14, 2013, 09:11:09 AM wow.. that's thick
. OK do a thing, make a kf2 aerofoil. and don't forget to Sand down the whole thing... try to get some thinner thermocol Sent from a potato using a lamp Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: AnjanBabu on October 14, 2013, 09:27:04 AM If it's low desity Thermocol, use CF rods for reinforcement and layer it with packing tape for strength.
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 09:33:12 AM That's what I am going to do anjan bhaiya.
@aniket sanding will make the foam more weak its already weak. Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: AnjanBabu on October 14, 2013, 09:54:50 AM 20mm should be fine for a 42" wingspan. Just sand the leading edge to make it more like a blunt knife edge.
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 10:01:54 AM Ok I will surely do it
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 14, 2013, 10:19:20 AM if you cant get cf rods, use strips of wood....though they might be a little heavy....
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 10:24:36 AM thanks I will use whatever I get
I have doubt will the above mentioned electronics will work perfectly for this plane Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 14, 2013, 10:27:45 AM read the part about the prop i posted earlier... an 8*6 might be too much for the motor...
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 10:30:18 AM this motor can also be used with a 3s so I don't think 8*6 is too much but if it is more then I'll change the prop
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 10:31:10 AM Sanjay sir thanks for your inspiring words
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 14, 2013, 10:42:34 AM why dont you use a emax cf2822, with a 20A ESC, a 10*4.7 prop, and a 1000-1300 mah 3s Lipo?
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 11:30:00 AM this was the same setup suggested by another member via pm's but he told to use a 9*4.7 and 850mah lipo
Title: Re: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 14, 2013, 11:43:14 AM that's good too
Sent from a potato using a lamp Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 11:50:09 AM will it produce enough thrust and will i get atleast 10min of flight time with it on variable throttle
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: RCNeil21 on October 14, 2013, 11:51:38 AM 850mah? for a 42" WS? thats a bit low, even a 1300mah 3S is good enough.
Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 11:56:27 AM yeah that was the same question I asked
Title: Re: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: aniket210696 on October 14, 2013, 12:25:10 PM though the emax motor generates 700g of thrust... that's more than enough... get a 1500-2200 lipo...

Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 14, 2013, 05:17:45 PM it is made out of 1.5 mm foam pieces.
i will be going slow for this plane Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 15, 2013, 11:58:30 AM Hello
should i add ailerons is it neccesary please reply fast. and I am going to go very fast because before 10 min. I got to know I am going out of station on 18th so Please don't mind if I can't post the whole build log. Title: Re: My blubay 42" kfm3 build log. Post by: rcrcnitesh on October 15, 2013, 01:54:45 PM plane is getting shape
