Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

The all new H-King Edge 540T blurs the line between foam and balsa 3D airplanes. Featuring a fully built-up fuselage incorporating the use of balsa framework covered with EPP foam,  Edge 540T take a look appears to be a good idea

any thoughts?

Sounds cool and looks cooler! Will surely hide the rib edge's impressions showing through the monocote. Harder to repair though...and marginal added weight. Is the petrol that goes in harmful to the foam. Don't know, haven't graduated to gassers yet.

IN THRUST WE TRUST.....!!

my worry would be..the glue bonding between the foam and wood.... should not disintegrate over time..... but that only time will tell..!

just a novelty - no way the epp is going to impart
the torsional stiffness of polyester film.

Ideal would be if tissue is used as a final layer
on top of the epp.

This is why many commercial foam sheets have
paper bonded on both sides - it increases the torsional
strength substantially.

Probably there is a business driver behind using materials that will not last long, true novelty it is.
