Hi Everyone,

This is my second model for RC India Sweepstakes. As the name suggests it will be a slow model, a lazy one. Giggle
Also the name suggests that this build is going to be a lazy (read slow) one.

This is a Stick model. Wings are made of coro. Stick is a wooden beading.

I have made the wing today after working from this afternoon. ( RIP our college P.R.O Sai Babu Sir).

I'll post pics in a Minute.

Regards,

I was a bit late due to a short power failure.

Here are the pics

Horizontal and vertical stabs yet to be done.

Temporarily joined the wing and the stick with rubber bands. Later I will use zipties.

Tried searching for zipties... All sell packs of 150-250. not even 50-100...Tried sticking but the glue simply cannot handle the weight...

Where do you need to use Zip ties, its available in hardware shops and electronics shops in individual pieces. you can even get 1 piece. better buy a pack of 100 for 30-50 rs as you might need them in the long run.

I got them from an elcetrician... I fixed the wing to the fuselage...Tried glide testing...glides smoothly... nearly 1:2 -1:3 glide ratio...

@topalle
Srinivas
Yesterday you said 1:1.
Now 1:2, 1:3
A tennis ball can do better than that.
1:1 means if you hand launch it from 5ft height, it flies 5 ft forward.
1:3 means it goes 15 ft.
See if you can get 50 ft from a 5 ft launch.
It is possible with a chuck glider.

I was standing and threw it with a barely needed force... It went nearly 15-20 feet
I am 5 feet 6 inches and growing... Cheesy

If I thow it with full force yes maybe it can go that far...

Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

Maybe you wait for a couple of years till you grow more, and then launch it with ''full force''  ROFL ROFL

Can a catapult be made to launch this farther and higher?

Use your schoolboy physics. At the instant of launch there is a very high velocity. Can this kind of model handle it?

Catapult is normally restricted to small jet type models - for a reason.

However, tow-line launches will work

I was in a fix whether to use a catapult or a slingshot...
Slingsot physics is too easy... but to calculate whether the model will be able to tolerate it is difficult.

Towline will do then ok...

Yesterday, I tested my model... It didn't fly very well... It was too tail heavy. I need to add a nose weight.

Adding nose weight should be your last option. First try to see if you can shave of some weight from the rear, and move the wing back. If RC, then move the battery front
