I am planning to make my first scratch-built plane, I may start making it from the next few weeks. (???)
I've heard Blu Baby is a great plane for a beginner. I want to make the smaller 24" version. I see most hobbyists have made it from foam. But I want to use Coro (from those advertisement boards  :giggle: ). Will this work out? My setup is:

7x6 prop
HXT500 5g servo X 3 (I have these lying around)
Turnigy 9g servo X 1 (I am falling short by 1, so I thought I'll buy this)

Now, I am confused. Shall I use:

1. 2200mAh 3S LiPo (167g) (Dualsky)  OR
2. 1300mAh 2S LiPo (98g) ?

It makes a difference of some 70g in the weight, but the thrust increases considerably. But, the 3S LiPo is larger and maybe difficult to mount. I'm really confused.  ???  ???

Will the thrust generated on a 2S be enough?

Coro blue baby doesn't sound like a good idea. Also 24 inch in coro will be too heavy even for 2mm coro. Better go with bigger wing span. 42 inch or more is good.
What thickness coro you are planning to use? How are you planning to make the fuselage, generally blue baby fuse is made using layers of foam (monobloc technique). Will it have a regular SPAD wing? Which plan are you referring, can you post a link.

2200 mAh batteries are heavy for a 24 wing span, go for 3s 1000 mAh or increase ur wingspan if u want to use 3s 2200 mAh, and also would suggest u to increase motor size 2830 or 2836 (rpm less than 1000)

And my quad... I flew it today. At some 20-30% throttle, it lifted off to some 4ft-5ft. The environment was closed and cramped so when it was about to crash against a wall, I lowered the throttle to 0 and thud! It fell down and one ESC got fried (but how can a crash fry an ESC  ??? )
BTW, I am happy that it reached 4ft at just 20-30% throttle. I'll just get a new ESC.

1. 42"! Can I go for 33"? Because I can't go to a field/club everytime I want to fly and the bigger the plane, the more difficult it gets to fly in a playground, or other places...
2. The advertisement boards I stole are around 3mm thick.

Can I use my 2200mAh 167g LiPo if I go for a 33" Blu Baby? Do you suggest me to use the Emax CF2812 motor instead?

You should spend some time reading about SPAD's before starting building with coro. To fly in small space you'll need a light plane. Better build with foam :thumbsup:

Avispad is know to be one of the best coro beginner both for flying and building.

most easy plane for coro will be MOSS, design can be understood from the build plan

Yep easier to build i guess. But I don't like MOSS, also its not a good beginner plane because of the high CG. Would never recommend it to a beginner. If you have flow the avispad, you'll never compare it with moss.

If there any plans of pusher plane ?, which can be build from coro. will be better . As that will safe Prop and Motor from initial learning process.
