Hi,

Yesterday i started with my new model, a pylon mount balsa glider, thanks to RCD for the balsa Bow.

I am building this model so that i can fly for more time. Whenever i go flying, half of the time is wasted in fixing  the nose motor mount. Whenever i do a crash landing the motor mount has to be repaired ( IT TAKES LOT OF OUR TIME ) and i am not a good flyer, still learning.

I was inspired by "bmblb's" pusher model, whenever he comes to fly on the field, he just flys as he has a pusher model. Thumbs Up

I have downloaded a pylon mount model plan and i had started working on it yesterday, finished cutting all the parts & now i am working on the wing first & later i will start with the fuselage.

Fuselage - 36"
Wingspan - 60"
Chord - 8"

Few pics of wing construction.

Wow!!! It looks fantastic. Share the plan Sarad.
BTW, take the Sealing Iron from my house if you need for covering. Your motor etc are also lying back there.

Hi RC......very clean cuts !!!

As regards the pylon, I tried it in the previous version of the pusher. Some of my experience are listed below:

1. Despite a pylon mount, I still managed to break a prop. Best to go with a pusher config with a pylon.

2. Factor in ample space for adjusting cg.

3. Ensure 0 degree for thrust line, and then add down thrust.

Couple of pics from my plane for your reference.

Here's another pic of the same wing, minus the pylon. You may be able to see the root of the pylon in the center section of the wing.

You may want to consider a configuration where the wing sits on the pylon rather than the pylon being atop the wing - this would ensure 0 deg thrust line. (of course you will need the down thrust).

Good luck with your build.

Hi RC Dude, Can you please guide me for the tools, cutting techniques etc you used to craft the aerofoil wing shapes from Balsa.

I have a strong desire to build a UAV from Balsa, I have collected the plans etc. But I am a little skeptical about the cutting part.
