hello friends,

i want to change  the plan a bit....

the battery position specially..!!!
instead to place the battery on either side.... i am planning to cut a rectangular portion of the fuselage exactly under the wing...to place the battery horizontally in the slot....
wanted to ask wether it will weaken the structure ...and is the battery safe in that position....Huh?
waiting for expert replies...!!!
this pic may help to understand my idea better..

Try reinforcing the area around the slot by chart paper, it weighs about16.5gms per 100cm2.
I am not an expert, but it looks viable as long as the Cog is not displaced. Undecided
Depron is pretty strong once reinforced with chart paper...

Happy is a man whose hobby is his profession

Hi Tejas

If you cut a big lipo slot in the front of the fuselage, it will weaken the structure. On an impact with ground the stress at the corner edge of the slot will be high and the possibility of crack showing up around that area is high. Instead of cutting a big lipo slot just cut a small one so that you can use velcro to tie your lipo.

And if you have to cut a big lipo slot please dont cut in the shape of a rectangle , rather round its edges so that there is no stress concentration point.

Regards

your control surfaces are way too big (esp elevator)- you will
find it very twitchy to fly - if you have a computer
transmitter start with about 50% exponential

hey tejas,

finally u completed ur build!!!! great...all the best for maiden...

i hav little doubt with he landing gear.... as i could see those are attached to fuse/nose and extended to wings..if it landed on impact then it will transferred to ur wings and may damage it.....one more thing..landing gears are in forward direction, it should be either perpendicular or little backwards to work like shock absorbers...even in forward direction it will work, but if the ride is bumpy then it will try to push gear wire inside the fuse...so be careful

and all the best!!!

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

The most weighty part of the plane is Battery and the wheel rods should be directly take weight of it. and for some spring action of the wheel for shock absorbing while landing, bend/use spring. But current structure seems that the weight on fuselage and landing gear loading point to wing. So, during landing, the wing will bend.

The thumb rule is that you should fix the all the major forces RIGIDLY. and here the Electronics inc. Battery for weight, Motor for thrust.

And if the male plug is perfectly fits, just make other side with a stereo audio jack and check for the PPM signal out pin. Connect with the signal (L+R) pin. Use PPJoy and got perfect simulator cable. Of course USB Simulator cable need another interfacing microcontroller. So Use of PPJoy will solve it.
Just google it.

I guess the plane is little tail heavy.
Adjust the battery to make it little nose heavy and it should be a smooth flyer.  Thumbs Up

Anyways
 Hats Off

Really Awesome job.

What are your future plans now?
More Trainers?
Or Practice flying with this one for some time?

Brilliant.  Salute
