Warp motor with 6X4

Absolutely fabulous build Mr Astha. Please let us know the KV rating of the motor please.

Will the small holes on the fuse suffice for the cooling requirement of the ESC inside the fuselage.

I am having a different experience with 2206 - 2200KV and 6x4 prop with 30 amps ESC on Mig-29. Watt meter is showing only 24 Amps on full throttle but today I fried the ESC. Now I had to upgrade it to 40 Amps with extra heat sink surface. Now with only a 6 x 3 prop at full throttle is 23 Amps but is giving much better thrust than before.

Is not a 30 Amps ESC supposed to support Amps close to at least 27Amps? May be I had a bad ESC?

Thanks sundaramvelar.
It is a Warp-4, 1810KV, with 6x4 will draw about 16Amps on 3 cell.
The back side (motor side) is open and there fore will have sufficient flow of air thru these holes at that speed, i hope.
With 2212-06 my experience is different. I have never been able to use more that 5x5 prop and with that itself the current is 22-25 Amps. with 6X4 it goes more than 30Amps, if battery is good.
As u know the current should be measured after full charge and on good battery. Between batteries itself u will notice differences depending on how ell the battery hold the voltage at that discharge. So i never exceed 5x5 for 2212-06. and my motors are from Grayson- Welguard.
I think that Warp is a more effcient motor, though costly.

Thanks Mr Astha,

Fantastic videos ! especially when the crows are trying to attack the plane. usually it happens with me also.

My setup was drawing only 24 Amps in watt meter in full throttle with fully charged battery, therefore I had attempted to fly it and mid flight ESC fried, but BEC was intact so I was able to land it.

Now I have changed ESC to 40 Amps and Prop to 6x3 let see how it is doing.

Also, can you provide the exact dimensions/plan for this bird ?

What glue was used, especially to ensure the two vertical fins are fixed well ?

dimensions:
sheet dimension is 1 meter X 0.5 meter.
Glue is mostly hot melt glue. the fins are fixed using Hot melt only. The fuse dimensions are just cut and made by visualising. 4.5 inches more from the tip of the wing. Width is 3 inches.

Every time one asks about simple beginner planes from plans, the discussion seems to end up with the Blue Baby / Blue Cub.

Wonder if this would be a beginner plane, if it is built a little bit beginner ?  Yes, one has to fly this (not much of self correction, but if one were to "hang" the foam fuse (instead of letting it stay above the wings), and somehow protect it, would it not work for this purpose ?

anwar, what i do is apply hotmelt and press it immediately down to touch the bottom of wing(inside). Then using the verticla fin angle jig, hotmelt glue is applied to between fuse and the fin. it is very strong...

How much of the vertical fin is inside the wing (or is it the fuse!) ?

Over last few weeks, i was doing some experiments with mu COROJET. Finally i added some small winglets in order to make it stable. and with this modification, this plane has become my favourite. very stable, stable on invert, smooth landing etc.

High spirits we have: gravity we flout.

Hi Ashta,
Congrats for the great build, i wish you had a video of it landing.
I am trying to build a sloper of similar design..
http://spadslopers.desertsites.net/Flik/index.html
I want to use a piece of coro I have laying around with me, it’s 3x6 feet. The problem is that I have the flutes running on the 3 feet side. Will this be a problem?

Ashat,

Good job man. But now taht you have put winglets, you can cut off the vertical stabilizers just to cut on additional weight. Winglets takes care of the vertical staqbility as well as wing tip vortices that the reason you find plane to more stable specially at low speeds.
