Dear sir,

I'm not sure if the rush is over, I think not. Smiley  However please don't forget me. I would still love two of your aircraft. One for display and the other for flying. Unfortunately the gentleman I was going to present the second plane passed away, much to my sorrow. I will show his plane on my wall in his memory. Thank you. As soon as you are ready, please supply freight costs and I will pay on my following pay day. Good things are worth waiting for.

Many wishes  Stu

It's a shame, but I've had no word regarding A Bugle I asked for last year. I'm not sure if they simply didn't want to send one to Australia or whether they just lost the request. I was really looking forward to owning and flying a plane which wasn't made in some Chinese EPO factory. Oh well, maybe I'll win the Lottery and then I can fly over and buy one in person. Good luck with your purchase my friend. Hats Off

Wow, I never realised it was so long ago that the Bugle finally began being manufactured. Am I right in saying it's all over? What a shame. It looks as if I'll have to be content with another HobbyKing plane. Actually no, I've sworn off buying another one. I guess my friends in India have noticed the very steep price rise in their planes and the freight fees. All the more reason to buy locally. Unfortunately there are no Aussie manufacturers so we are forced to buy from overseas. If anyone is making them in India, I'm jealous. The way the news of the Bugle was received I believed it would be selling very well considering your growing numbers of RC'ers.

Can anyone explain to me what has happened to the Bugle please? I'm still very interested in buying a plane from India. Happy New Year everyone

I don't think it is being manufactured. Even the website does not offer it

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

Well !

This wine is being bottled as a aeromodelling programme through Mr MRK Menon. and is being sold on their website, as part of a programme, meaning you will have to pay for the programme and in that package you will get this bird. It is an interesting work from home programme, all you need find is some parents with some money and some children who will take interest, nothing wrong, though. For 800 Indian Rupees ? forget it

I'm afraid I don't understand what this "program" is all about Gusty. Why should buying a plane have to be associated with a program. Surely people who aren't interested in a Program should be able to buy just the plane. Actually the original builder has contacted me and said the plane can be purchased for around 1800 plus freight. Which at today's exchange rate is around $35 AUD. Not bad for what I've seen as the finished product.

I've just received further info on the Bugle and that "course" I'm assuming return air fare is included in the $3,000.00 fee. As for doing an electronics course and flight sim training, I'm pretty sure I could run a decent course on both subjects. So if the Bugle is only sold along with said course I'll be looking closely at the other plane I've been told about. Whichever I buy will be used as a trainer for the young guys who've been asking me if I could teach them to fly. I was considering the Bixler but I'm sure the wing over would be a much better trainer.

I've modded a couple of Turnigy 9X radios as buddy units and they really work well. It makes things so much easier to teach "on the job" so to speak. I've purchased a pair of FPV goggles but as yet haven't got around to trying them out. The ground station is ready to go and all I have to do is plug in but it's a major exercise just to get all the equipment to the field and lifting is one thing I can't do or at least I'm not supposed to :-)

I had a go at a hexcopter. I made the mistake of buying the HobbyKing HAL heavy lifter. What a mongrel of a job that was. A major modding exercise it turned out to be. I'd love to meet the guy who designed it. One thing which really stood out was the lousy quality of the aluminium, typical cheap and nasty Chinese rubbish. A local guy built one and thought he'd have a better set made locally. They were really tough and would take anything thrown at them. Trouble came when he tried to lift off. Apart from screaming motors, very little happened. Even standard they are heavy beasts, ne'd made his about 4 times heavier. I gave him a pile of parts to get him airborne, but he insisted on ignoring my advice as to types of motor and even refused to accept not putting his ESCs under the plastic dome. Not only that but also painted the darned thing black. I'd hate to think what sort of temperatures would be inside the dome under the Aussie sun. Anyway, rather than invest in decent motors his new Hexcopter is now used to impress his visitors, a sort of static display to stupidity. Some people just won't listen.

My copter squadron has grown to 14 with just 5 of them tested and flying. The rest are ready bar setting up the FC's. I grabbed one of the Novas but haven't yet tried it out. Mainly because I intended to fly it around the house (outside) but I took a different quad out into the back garden simply to align it and my next door neighbour decided to complain about the noise. I tried to explain I was only testing the quad and setting it up but he told me the noise was upsetting his dogs. I didn't think the quad was that noisy but he insisted it was the frequency of the noise which caused the problem. I should have mentioned the two hours of noise we're subjected to every Sunday morning when he has his ride on mower roar into life whether his grass needs cutting or not, but for a change I bit my tongue and said nothing.

I've lost track of how many planes are waiting to be maidened. A rough guess would be around 35 to 40. I'd really love to get stuck into the larger planes still in their boxes. I have 2 large T28s to be built plus the Liberty Belle and Memphis Belle and the Catalina. Other than those 5 there's another 16 waiting. Assorted large gliders, a couple of Bi-Planes and 3 absolutely massive planes I was blessed with by a good friend who's wife decided it was her or the planes which went out the door. He said he thought long and hard about which it should be but he didn't like the idea of cooking for himself so the planes left home and landed here. I can't recall what they are but I recall not being able to see where i was going when I was carrying two of their boxes. They are Air force type planes from memory. Not HobbyKing's but I believe they did sell similar models. I seem to remember one may be a  F-86 Super Sabre. I know I bought an EDF and motor to put in it. The other was a twin prop job which also has "super" in it's name. I'd go and look but it would take me ages to get to them. One of them was doubled up. He was offered a good price if he purchased two so he thought one would be a good spare. I wanted to send one to a mate in Brisbane, but because Aussie Post no longer accepts boxes of that size it was going to cost me an arm and leg to send via a courier so it stayed here.

Oh yes you mentioned the 3d plane you're building. I purchased one from HobbyKing earlier last year. It was about $149.00 as an ARF back then but it's no longer stocked and again I can't recall it's name. I'm pretty sure it had 540 in it's name, but definitely a 3D plane. It's also waiting to find it's way to my bench. I guess I should do a stock take and make a list of them all. I went through them last year and made sure I had all the parts I needed to build them. The only thing I didn't get was retracts for one of the big planes. The bombers and t28s came with them included.

Anyway, I've just been told breakfast is ready so I'd better get mobile, Nice to hear from you again.

All the best   Stu
