Does this motor have front mounting holes?
If not then how to mount this motor on this plane?
Redesign the motor mount? or reverse the shaft?
If reverse the shaft, then what is the correct procedure?

Sorry i am a newbie, lots of questions  :help:

Isnt the motor on pilatus a lill overpowered for it

NO. The extra power compensates the big battery weight.

@ crazypilot: where do you get those motor mounts used in your both planes...? Did they come along with ARF or you purchased them separately..?

Title: Re: Phoenix Classic EP Balsa Wood from FLYRC
Post by: CrazyPilot on January 20, 2011, 01:39:07 PM
Sir, I purchased them separately but they also come with motors and are available at HobbyKing too. A wide variety of mounts are available on HK for every type of plane and use. Thx

Hi Crazy Pilot,
Dont you think that the Tail wheel system is mounted in wrong way?

Check the att. pic.. sorry for bad editing.. i think it should go this way...

Actually if i mount it like the way u suggested, i dont know how but plane's tail is lowered than the way i have mounted it. hope this helps. Thx

i am not much technical about Aerodynamics, but logically i can think that lower tail side will give you a easy lift while take off. also during landing if something stuck like grass in the spring of landing gear may break the rudder. if you really want to increase the tail height i would suggest you to correct the landing gear as suggest by me and bend the landing gear wire a little to increase the height. It will look real also.

i wish if i could make the stearable  tail gear in my Pliatus...

Sandeep Sir,

Check this out

Someone has put this in his Slow Stick. so i dont see why it cant be used in Pilatus?

Title: Re: Phoenix Classic EP Balsa Wood from FLYRC
Post by: sandeepm on January 21, 2011, 01:05:43 PM
that's the problem....design of pilatus tail part is weird
it will not give you way to put this system as for this there should be a gap in the tail wing so that the steering assembly can be inserted in the rudder, which is possible in Pilatus if i cut the tail wing in two half and give some gap in the center, like the one others have.

Sir, i will try to cut the tail wing in my model as u suggested. lets see how it ends up.
