Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

Scratch built from plans available on outerzone.co.uk

Designed by the master Y. Matsumoto, this was in response to the sad end of another super Matsumoto-of-Pilot-Models design, the Zattack based on his Attacker 28.

Brief specs:

52"span, AUW of 1350 grams including 3000 mAh 3S LiPo, DYS 3536-1250 KV motor, 40/50 A ESC, 10*7 e-prop.

Only one pic in the build log - testing the wing incidence. (It was about 1.5 degrees positive, so I left it as it was)

The model flies beautifully, and hardly needed any trimming.

Having a shorter fuse and smaller wing area than the Zattack (QB is 52" span, Zattack is 49") the model is nimble, responsive and quick. At a pinch I would say the Zattack is more stable, and the QB 20 is more aerobatic.

Video is uploading (870 MB  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes ) Will post once it is done

Thanks Vin, Sundaram sir

The Incidence Meter is described here: http://www.rcindia.org/tools-materials-and-building-techniques/wing-incidence-meter/

The level is used for levelling a datum or reference line, though when just checking wing incidence with respect to horizontal stab that is not necessary

Real Master of Coro.  Hats Off
Love the details like the wing mounting bolts that don't need a screwdriver, tailwheel assembly, Allen bolts for u/c, tiny hold down screws for hatches...
I notice that you seem to have standardised your production technique so that it is easily repeatable.
Hope you also post your builds on RCG for international audiences.
And Many Happy Returns of the Day.

1. Thank you sir
2. Thanks again. In fact some of the screws are self tapping screws through the corro into the wood below for the Firewall, LG Plate, and wing bolt-down blocks
3. I am trying to standardise. I don't design: I only take an existing design in Balsa/Nitro and try and adapt to Corro/Electric. Soetimes, surprisingly, it works  Wink
4. Not RCG. I do post sometimes on spadworld.net, but that group is not as poular nowadays as it was 5 years ago
5.  Thanks Thanks

Happy birthday sir

today I learn something new I know it was there but do not know the exact method to measure incidence thanks for the link its helpful

I download a simple app on my nokia which calculate angle with reference surface I think (jugad) it can work in place of
Robart Incidence Meter
(as seen from photo taken from net)
hope such app are available on anroid also)

Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

Gaurang,  Thanks

I would normally use 4 mm for the fuse, tail and ailerons, and 2 mm for the wings. However since 4 mm is not available since some time I used 3 mm. The fuselage has doublers of 3 mm from nose to just behind the wing

That, Iyer sir, is the wonder of SPADs!  Grin Grin

Initially I used to put a lot of effort in rounded LE's. Then I found it didn't make a difference  Cool

A lot of other interesting things too. Leave the wingtips open. Same difference.

Rounded Wing LE

(Most) Everyone at the field freaked when they saw the fin was on one side, and thought it would roll and spin around. But, no, it flew straight and true

Hi sanjay,

I can see from the pictures that you use Hitec optic6 2.4Ghz ? which receivers are you using (minima or optima) and how are they performing. Any interference or etc issues ?
