Tried to make one. Photos attached.

Maidened it in land today. pl see the video. sorry for the poor quality of the video. Model to be trimmed and made perfect before trying in water. Will do in few days. Also my 2212-06 and ESC is not working well together. Has ordered another ESC from Sai. waiting for it.

Plane= as per plan in RCGROUPS
Motor 2212-06, 18A esc, this is not working OK and has to be changed asap
Assan rcvr
2200mah/ 20c battery
9 grams servo x2
18 gram servo x1 for aelerons./
Aeleron/Rudder/ elevator throttle.

It flies beautifully and very stable.. I have to decorate the model after the initial trials.

Mr Astha,

Firstly I must congradulate you on the Nice build there. It looks beautifull even without the graphics. It will be a real stunner with graphics painted on the plane.

I think if you have used a 6x4 prop as it seems on the photo, If I am not wrong you may like to go for a 30 Amps ESC in place of 18 Amps ESC.

Are you going to design and fit floats on the wing tips if you are using in water?

Please may I request you to share plan with us if it is not a major probs. We will be fortunate.

dear sundaramvelar,
thank you.
link for the plans and the build guide as below.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=922465

Yes 2212-06 with 6X4 requies a 30Amp Esc. I had one from Grayson hooby, but went bad in one crash. so now i do not have one and was hoping to use 18a esc with throttle mgmnt, Any way ordered a new one from sai yday.

yes it requires floats and is there in the given design. i have to just add that before trying in water.

did a little course build, so it has not come as much nice as i wanted. But after the initial learning curve, there is always a better scope.
good luck to you.

Another nice one Thumbs Up

Curious... how will you ensure that the fuse is water proof ? Do you have any specific steps/tricks to ensure that ?

Thanks anwar. The fuselage cover is glued to the bottom of the fuselage it makes it wter tight. on top of it when we put paking tape, i hope it makes it double proof. all this i suppose, since i am also doing for the first time. i will post my findings in this forum

I was badly wanting to try this for water landing and take off. Found some patches of water the other day. But when i physically went near, i found that the water is too thick due to weeds and very dirty. Also i am scared to try this in large lakes due to the risk.
mean time pl watch some videos, trying to do some touch and go practice.

Thanks for watching

Did you verify that absolutely no water entered the aircraft ?  Any other steps towards water proofing, like applying a coat of epoxy (increases the weight though) ?
