There were two kinds of Videos on Youtube which got me totally hooked to this hobby,, Fpv & Flying Wings. Having zero flight experience, I took the common route of the Sky Surfer. After a fair amount of practice I can now hand launch, fly and land(if you can call it that). So my search began for a Flying Wing, so that I could experience first hand, what I had seen and fallen in love with in those videos. My search was in vain as no LHS stocked Combat wings. Bang Head
Then I see a post by Vishalrao about Kinetic Hobbies opening and that Popwings would be available. Drool
As soon as Kinetic Hobbies opened I ordered My popwing.
Firstly I would like to inform fellow members, my buying experience was Perfect. After transfer of funds, up until the parcel was received, there was constant communication. Then we come to the package quality, and I hope other LHS are taking notice. Kinetic Hobbies has taken the effort to go that little bit further, to satisfy the customer. They actually manufactured a box made of Coro I believe, to add protection to the original box. Thumbs Up

A couple of pics to start with.

Thank you Sir.

The Popwing comes with everything you need to build it except glue. CA is recommended, to fix the wing halves,  but I used what I had and that was Clear Foam Glue (Medium Cure). You have to provide two 8-9g servos for which you will also require extensions,as standard servo leads wont really reach the electronics bay. A battery holder cum velcro strap is provided but battery bay is to small for the battery I had in mind. I was planning to use 1800 3cell because thats what I had. I had to cut the foam a bit but the battery is a snug fit. A T-motor is provided with mount. I used a combination of quick fix and hot glue for the mount and it feels solid. You get three very thin C/F rods with precut slits in the wings to fit them. Putting this model together is so simple some how I feel a build guide is not required. The instructions you get are pretty clear and you get colour pictures.

The electronics bay has enough room for the ESC and receiver, and you get free zip ties to hold them in place.

check cg you have increased weight on nose .... it will be a bit nose heavy.... hence it will have fast decent characteristics.

all the best for maiden.

Thank you Ashim for the feedback Smiley Sorry missed the thread.

Thank you Iyer sir Smiley

Good build Ashim.

I second rastsaurabh. Battery appears to be too heavy for the model. Go for a 1000mah battery.

Thank you rastsaurabh for the suggestion. The CG is recommended between 200-212mm, with a 1800mAh battery it does tilt a bit forward.
I was surprised by how easy it is to launch. 70% throttle a light toss and she's up and gone. The maneuverability is just awesome and landings are easy. I even managed to catch it after a few trys.
Some how I feel this is a better beginner plane than the Sky Surfer type models. Im sorry for the video quality, will have to invest in proper camera.

Thank you Saurabh, This wing is just rock solid in the air. Even a novice like me looks good flying this Bird.
The manual you requested:

One important thing to keep in mind while building this model is that the motor thrust line must be straight/parallel. No up/down thrust. While building one of our models, we had inadvertently mounted the motor mount with about 3 degree up thrust. The result was immediate crash on take off. Subsequent takeoffs resulted in similar nose down on takeoff. We suspected it could be a CG problem. However, it balanced well on the CG point with 1300mah 3S battery. Later on we corrected the thrust line and model flew wonderfully.

So the CG is at 210mm right. Have read lot of views that balancing at the  recommended CG would cause it to have unpredictable flight character. So what is the ideal CG point. Anybody has tried flying this wing with a 2200mah Lipo?, If so at what CG point did you balance the plane?

Highest I have used is 1800mAh and it flew great. I have found that a little nose heavy flies better.

I have used 4200 mah on this plane. Heheh. But I did have a blunt of 4inch on it. Put whatever u want but maintain cg. 200-210. Flying wings are twitchy by nature at the right cg, so u need dual rates with rates low. The more nose heavy the less efficient, and more numb controls get.

Thank you. Just received the pop wing Grin. Stepping up from flying the skysurfer. Was confused about the CG after looking into so many reviews.

I am having problems programming the radio.I am using the RCB7X in wing mode. Everything is working fine except that the elevon movements are reversed for aileron control  Head Scratching. i.e, when the aileron stick is moved to the right, the right elevon is moving down instead of moving up and visaversa. The elevator function is working normally i.e, both elevon moves up on giving down elevator and down on giving up elevator. If I swap the sevo leads the elevator and the aileron functions are interchanged. Reversing the channels on the radio also leads to the same problem . I just want to reverse the aileron movement without affecting the elevator function. Can somebody help?

Both elevon should go down when giving down elevator not up. Try reversing the channels and try again with proper understanding of control surface.

Yes, sorry my bad... I meant the elevons are going up on up elevator and visaversa.... However got it right now after trying a few permutation and combinations with the servo leads and reversal switches... Smiley
