Title: possibly what could go wrong
Post by: rajaram on May 21, 2010, 08:51:54 AM
Dear all,
i am a beginner in this field and have got an foamy with the help of rajsigma
it is based on plans drawn from rc powers .
now the test flight went very good (on sunday 16/05/2010)
it has the following components
1400 mah brush less from rcforall
30 a esc
11.4 v 1000 mah lippo
servos from rcforall
tx rx futaba 6 channel
Today when i tried it flies for 1 min and the props just shuts off . had a crash because of that luckily for me i had my mentor sandeep sir (ex army) who is teaching me to fly the model ,took control of it and avoided major damage
we tried charging the battery and flew but again the same results
what could have possibly gone wrong :headscratch: :headscratch:
please guys give me your valuable suggestions

and thanks in advance for the same  :salute: :salute:

will attach pics shortly
regards
Rajaram

hi,

In a electical setup, this could be because of higher current drawn by the Motor,

So check the ESC is getting extremely hot.

Check if there is some sort of resistance to the motors movement something inside which is preventing the motor from running smoothly.
This could push up the current draw .
What is the prop size  is it drawing excess  current which is  sending the ESC into  auto cut off mode to prevent damage to battery.

When you re-charge the battery after a flight, how much "mAH" went into the cell? This would give you some idea of the current draw.

It looks most likely that the motor is drawing excessive current, possibly because of the wrong propeller. You have not given details of your motor. Since you got it from Sai, I am sure he would be able to help you out on this.

when u say the maiden went of well, how long did it fly and was all fine that time.
if so from the maiden to next flight  u might have changed some thing. However trivial it is pl lookin to this carefully.
check the current on the motor always.
best of luck
