Hi friends  ;)
I was working on my old Glidiator ver II when this idea struck me-
Some red coro is left and it is 12 noon......... let's make a quick build SPAD! ;D
So here is how to make one for yourself-
(please refer to size specs before doing any of the following steps :giggle:  :))



Nose-5"
+Box-6.5"
+Tail-10"
=Length-21.5"

Front Width-2.5"
Front Height-2.25"
End Width-1"
End Height-1"
(the tail tapers to the end)

Step 1-
First ten minutes of the 3 hour time limit were spent on looking at pics of some spads and imagining a design in my mind.Then I took to my workshop(that's my drawing room which has been messed with my stuff  ;D) and drew out a plan on the 3mm red coro sheet which was then cut into the body.
The design is a simple fold-fold design with 3 surfaces which form the main body.
Next I drew out an elevator,a stationary rudder and a back cover and cut them too....

TIME SPENT- approx 35min :thumbsup:

Step 2-
Score the 2 fold lines with a blunt pencil and drop some CA into the folds.
Now here I used 5x5 mm pine wood sticks but you can use any other wood which holds the body together and is not heavy.Glue two sticks on the folds and line them up with both the surfaces.Make sure the wood does not exceed the box line(Box- it is the hollow place which is just beneath where you mount your wing).You can also use saw dust to ensure a good bond.Follow the same procedure with the back end.Hinge the elevator(typical coro hinge with one flute cut and shaven off) and cut two parallel flutes on the back side to fit the elevator.Push the elevator into the cut and then drop a few drops of CA to stick it into place and you my use some saw dust too.Stick the rudder on to the elevator with cut sticks of same wood and saw dust with CA.

TIME SPENT-approx 30min  :thumbsup:

Wow Prateek. Guys its an awesome plane. It flies like an aerobatics plane. Very nice for beginners and intermediates. Prateek please post how to build the wing.

Step 3-
Cut 10x10 mm stick of pine wood into 2 pieces of 5.5" and 2 of 2.25" each.
Stick the long sticks parallel to each other on the top end of  ______ the    box  and then the smaller ones next to the big ones parallel to each other it should look like this |______| .
once stuck with CA and saw dust' drill two holes 3" away from the center of the long sticks for your wing retainer sticks(the rubber band holders, forgot the name ??? :giggle:) which in my case were two motorcycle spokes.Again use our trusty CA and saw dust to hold the sticks in place.

TIME SPENT- approx 35 min

Yes Prateek, am mostly into SPADing except the once in a while 3d foamies :) I loved your chotu cute little SPAD! Keep them coming :D

this one is a bit different,being longer and the wingspan is 36"

Prateek, post the electronics that you are using on your plane.

Does the wing also from Coro ? or foam?
5" x 21" 2 layer coro = 47-52 gm (Without inner support weight) taking 3mm coro (350GSM Appx.)

But the wing looks white. And no description given. So, please enrich this thread please.
