The total cost of making the plane. hmmm.

2 sheets of 10mm biofoam  Rs 500/-
getting it cnc cut Rs 500/-
2 tubes of fevicol decoration glue Rs. 50/-
and lot of patience Tongue
you can skip the cnc cut and cut it yourself and save 500/-

so total cost 550/-

Sir
I was wondering, if you can get a cnc cut depron.
Why dont you try to make a wing with a "Proper" well defined airfoil instead of KF airfoil.
If i had access to a CNC i would try out all the aerofoils i could.
Great job on the a/c

Just made a few changes to the plan and increased the size of the wing to 39inches to give it more glide.
i was getting abt 9to 10 min on a 1000Mah 3S 20C lipo, i increased the wing to get a longer flight time.
i have attached the pics with the mod.

you cannot get a airfoil cut with a cnc router you need a cnc hot wire cutter for that ,
which sadly Bang Head i don't know where to get it done the only option is to make a
hot wire bow and do it myself.

what does the cnc router cut? I am guessing it cuts the shape of the wing from the top.
If that is the case then it is possible to cut out various profiles and join them to form a wing like the way it is done in balsa, using ribs.
Cut the ribs using cnc?

cutting anything is possible with cnc router except the aerofoil design, you can make it using the method you described.

Dear Sir
In continuation to the pms that we have exchanged I am posting this query on your thread to help future builders get new ideas.
As I have already communicated to you I am contemplating building this plane for a beginner.
The design that I have in my mind is sandwiching a layer of foam between 2 layers of corro for the fuse and use corro for the wings keeping the wing size to 39-40 inches as per your design.

I understand that the overall weight of the model will increase if corro is used which will mean a relook into the electronics.
What is your opinion of such a sandwich design ?

best regards,
Dr. A Ghosh

depending on the build material used the AUW can be between 7Oz to 10Oz.

i built one with 6mm depron, I ended up at 10Oz, if you can get EPP(somehow) then you can easily manage within 8 Oz with standard RC gear.
