What 's the material that you have used for the making of fuselage. From picture it seems like Sun-board

Also let us know that whether you have used a normal thermocole sheet or Hd sheet for wings.

Yes its sun board.and normal thermocouples.

Nice build ..
How much weight without electronics ?
How you shape wings? Looks like under curved .
Nice one.

May be 500gm to 650gm. Yes wings are under curved.

How you shaped wings ? Landing gears are custom made or else ?

@kplkum: Your build seems to be good. A small suggestion, please check your trailing edges. Also, which airfoil is this? Did you used hot wire cutter for it?

Title: Re: Scratch build trainer
Post by: kplkum on September 03, 2014, 09:31:44 PM
Just simple cutter..that's plastic cardboard.

You need to work on your wing for a better airfoil. Kindly make a hot wire cutter and using a good template slice out your wing.

Well... the entire wing profile may need to be looked into for being aerodynamic.  The model may fly... but with a very high aerodynamic drag.... i.e. high penalty on overall performance.  It could be a roll to one side, or a wing drop or a tip pitch up...... or plain extra drag.  Also look into your aileron thickness... they need to flush in properly with the wing aerofoil.
Happy Building

You have marked your video 'private'. So no one can see!

Youtube says that the video is 'private'  :) . So, no chance to see the video. ;D  That apart, What did you expect ???? It seems that you have made no efforts to take up the suggestions from those seniors who were kind enough to see your thread and suggest some changes, like Shobhit17  :salute:. The airfoil and the alignment of the control surfaces were sadly mistuned / misaligned  :banghead:. You have seen the result...  :( Never mind man, there is no end to the learning curve and it is never too late to start, learn and earn by experiences . Keep forging ahead  {:)} {:)} . Good luck.

@kplkum : everyone warned you for your airfoil and control surfaces. Not seen your video but could figure out what would have happened..

Received a new 40a esc.

Do a ground test before mounting everything on your model again. Mount the motor somewhere with prop. Connect ESC to it. Check whether everything is solved or not. Do it for atleast 3-4 minutes changing the throttle after some time.

@kplkum

as flash player is not working on my pc so i havent seen the video , by seeing the airplane picture at
page 1 it seem that you put the esc inside the airplane

its my persional suggestion it is not necessary i put my esc at the windshild area of the airplane ie outside

so that the propeller air help little bit to absorb the heat of the esc  .

see my coro build anti stress machine.

overall you have design very good airplane , all the best with your new esc

Hi today I fly my model again. But there is little bit wind so some problem I face in flying. I have a question. Can I use full throttle in air. If yes. ..then how much time I can use continues.
Thanks

Can anyone tell. ..

The motor is a huge power plant and I recommend to use 50A Red brick with it.
What prop you use with the motor ? Does it overloads the motor ? Prop is the first to check any power system for RC Plane.
If the power system is OK, you can use full throttle definitely.

Title: Re: Scratch build trainer
Post by: kplkum on October 07, 2014, 04:44:21 PM
I use 1060 or 1260.

Title: Re: Scratch build trainer
Post by: KALYANPRODHAN on October 07, 2014, 04:52:27 PM
Go for 1060 DD/SF prop. Dont use 1260 with 40A ESC. you can use full throttle.
Does 1260 used when the esc burnt ? I always go with 1.5 times of motor's max current limit for ESC.
And just below size for prop from recomendation of Motor so that it wont burnt even at full throttle. I keep ESC Inside of model as I know my design will not burnt.
What is AUW ?

30a esc brunt with 1260. 40a is ok it do not become hot.
