i cut depron using normal Xacto knife. Normal blades that you can buy in stationary shops, the one with breakable pieces on the blade. I use the wider one.

The specs of my plane in terms of dimensions is same as the plan, since i used this plan. However few changes are:
1. My AUW expected is 300 to 350 grams, 9 - 12 oz.
2. WAy point 2212 motor, 8X 4 prop. 9grm + 2 nos 5gram servo, Assan recvr, 15 a ESC, 750 to 1000 mah 3cell.

This plane is a 3D plane. It will be very good if u can build it under 6 OZ AUW, to exploits all its 3D capability.
mine will not be so less with my materials and the gear.

my advize is to keep the wt as low as possible w/o compromising the strength. ( Tough !!)

 Thumbs Up

hmm maybe if i use a 6 or 8 mm for the fuselage would reduce some weight also put on a stronger motor.. The only problem is my futaba receiver its a big one, neways let c hw it works out..

please let us know about the flight review.. Salute

thanks to all for the wishes. every body at home fell sick due to this bad flu. and now it is better.
The silentmite is made of 3mm depron for body and 3mm laminated for the wing.
The motor is 1400KV, 29 gram from Hobbycity and used 8X4 prop.

Thanx Astha, I'm starting the silent mite with 6mm biofoam...... but its too britle..... maybe depron handles better...... but then, what to do...... wonderin whether packing tape reinforced thermocole would do the job, but then, weight is a concern with too much packing tape...... would be good if we can find the equivalent of fanfold foam or bluecore here Head Scratching

Here is a small video. Pl pardon me for the poor qulity of the video,
Mainly contributed due to my hat camera arrangement. and  last but not least, due to my poor flying skills. However, this is just a proof that it flies.  also it is a great and inexpensive bird to learn 3D.
thanks for watching.

Nice  Thumbs Up

One suggestion...  it would be good if you hold up the model in front of the camera and rotate it around, before take off (or even after landing).  That way people can see the model up close a bit more.

I had many crashes with my Amos, trying to learn some aerobatics. So i decided to redo the Nose portion with commonly available EPE packing material. With this and a decent prop saver, it has become very very crsah resistant indeed.
pl see the photos.

Nice nose job  Wink. Any place to get EPE in bangalore? Is it heavier than depron/thermocol?
