Need a motor that has a 1Kg+ thrust on a 30A esc and runs fine on an 11.4v lipo (for an aeroplane). Which one would you recommend in reasonably priced good motor category?

Thanks,
Areeb

Thanks for the PM Iyer sir (while I am still trying to go through for the motor I should buy)...let me put it this way...which motors would you put on the cloud dancer if you were to make it a twin prop bomber? Smiley

100% thrust required on 40-48" span trainer weighing about 600 gms, the second engine would take that up to double (I think or at least with enough reserve beyond 150%).

I need 2 x 100 watt motors with 9 x 5 props. Which ones in terms of specific model/brand would be good. (since there are too many out there to choose from)

Perhaps i misunderstood the original query.

There are many Cloud Dancers, ranging from a glider to a low wing aerobatic.
If the Hobbyking 1300mm one is what you have in mind, the right person to advise you is Rai saheb (sanjayrai55 on this forum), especially as in the recent past he has built a Cloud Dancer as well as a twin.

I have a DM2610 from Kinetic Hobbies that runs on 3s and a 30a Esc that easily exceeds 1300gms thrust. You could try it.
Many other possibilities, ranging from a Turnigy D2826 2200kv on a 6x4 to a D700-750 on 12x3.8.

Edit:
Notice you modified your post while i was typing my reply!

@areebnazim
Sir,
With due respect, i cannot agree with your assumption that a trainer needs 100-200% power to weight.
Offhand i can't think of any 100 watt motor that can turn a 9x5.
The motors i mentioned are in 300+ watts range.

Recommend consulting Rai saheb about converting Cloud Dancer into a twin.
Best of luck.
Regards.

Emax CF2822 1200 kv is probably the cheapest good motor currently. (Rs 500-600)
Will turn a 9x5 and give 600+gms thrust at about 120-140watts (~11-13 amps)

I'll try to see if I can make it to the IFFCO ground tomorrow morning around 7.30am. Just hope to find someone there considering the recent bomb scares and the current red alert situation!!
