RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Until I recently got an RC Dhamaka 46 size nitro Yak 54, these shockies were the only type of planes I was flying.

They are hell lot of fun, can be flown both indoors and outdoors, and can really be abused ! Some of them can handle significant amounts of wind too !

I don't see why there wouldn't be significant interest in these.  Especially if you can demonstrate flying them well.  That is another point I wanted to make !  All hobby store owners should really concentrate on flying their aircraft, and try to develop advanced maneuvering skills.  There is nothing like seeing a skilled pilot in action, to get others interested in the hobby !

Very true Anwar, for those of us who love to build these smaller and economical planes are the only ones that result in a fast, cheap and quick build. Of course getting the material is a pain at times. If available as kits it would be great too.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Nice  Drool

Looks like you may need to be a bit more specific about what is included in the kit, and what else someone would need for these to be made flight ready.

At least one photo of an open box/kit would also be nice.

Just some suggestions to be made on the eBay listings itself, so that anyone trying to purchase would be better informed.

To all my friends "HAPPY LANDINGS"....

Superb move,
Welldone Sai.
Now all rc modellers in India have access to the best shockies in the market at the best possible prices.

I wanted to talk to you but could not get through after we were disconnected...
What is the difference between the both sides laminated EPP foam that you sell and the Edge Shock Flyer by Phase 3 foam??
Please will you also advise about Super slow 28 that you have built; How good is it compared to phase 3 edge?
Thanks

Thanks Deepak , but for the discussion with you about shock flyers I don't think I would have got the tech one ones.
Sorry my mobile ran out of charge .
The Double side laminated foam I have is similar to the one on the edge .

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Glad to hear that it all worked out great  Smiley

The concept was simple, how can anyone refuse such kits which
  • are inexpensive
  • easy to build
  • don't need a large field to fly
  • virtually no maintenance
  • which can easily be fixed with glue/epoxy
  • and even if it is a total loss crash, just get another kit !

No wonder they sell well !  Just make good brushless combos, and have tons of fun doing 3D  Clap

Sai, if one gets the kit, and the power combo then is that all they'll need?? I'm aware that the Radio is separate (Tx, Rx and 4 micro servos)

Anyone who got the katana - can you'll post pics of the positioning of the servos, battery, receiver, esc and the mount for the motor or at least a description of it.

Hi TG,

I have already posted some pics in the VPP thread about the Katana build and also some pics.  It is a relatively simple build.  A couple of evenings max.  The servos positioning are as per the manual.  The aileron control horns alone should be moved a bit from the suggested position so that the push rods from the aileron servos are straight.  Rudder and elevator servos can be mounted in the stock place as per the manual.  Battery should be placed in the battery compartment which has a hatch on the top.  If you are using a heavy motor setup, then the battery should be pushed behind (inbetween the landing gear frame) to balance the plane at CG.  ESC would come under the plane beneath the battery compartment.  Use double side tape to stick it in.
