Title: SPAD-X My Coro Pusher Trainer Model
Post by: samlikespad on November 05, 2020, 04:28:19 PM
Hey Guys,

Always wanted to do a 3 or 4ch coro pusher thats easy to build and fly. Also, wanted to make sure only commonly available materials and components are used. So I came up with this...

2mm and 3mm coro build, AUW was around 820g with Landing Gear
48" WS, just about 27" in length.

2212, 1400kv bldc
9 x 4.5 prop
30A esc
3 or 4 x 9g servos (Flaperon if possible)

Build and Flying videos will be uploaded to my channel soon and updated here. Hope you guys like it  ;D

Beautiful. Very ingenious with coro. All the best with the first flight, if not already.

Hi guys, Thanks :) Maiden was successful but way too nose heavy. Second and third flights were way better. She flies very nice, agile and sporty on full throw, slow and steady on low rates. Two or Three versions of the wings will be there, Beginner, Intermediate and Sport as in any trainer ones, Beginner being a Polyhedral wing slightly bigger that 48 inches, Intermediate will be 48" with a slight dihedral but 4ch, Sport will be a straight wing. I am currently working on the build video, and Ver 2.0 will be slightly different that this.

Once the build vids are online, I will post the build plan or measurements here.  :)

Hi samlikespad , your build looks beautiful. I would like to see a pic shot from the side ( to see the fuse in full) . And a flight video too is welcome :)

Hi,

Sorry for the delay as I was in the process of making a build video series.  Please find part 1 of the wing construction below, part 2 will be uploaded today morning.  A more detailed flying video will be uploaded hopefully by today eve or by tomorrow.  Request all my friends here to subscribe and support my effort  :salute:

Hi sir, I have used tips from your videos and made my own wing. I just have a doubt , how to insert/place a Square carbon fiber rod (5󬊁000mm) in the wing , such that the wing has some dihedral. ?

Hi Surjit,

Thanks for watching the videos and building spad-X pusher. I have provided the link to the updated plans under the video descriptions. However, using square cf pipes in a dihedral wing is a difficult question for me to answer  ;D . Never tried that myself. Hope our other forum lions can comment. Please note that the suggested 3mm coro spar is pretty light weight and strong enough to be used in this plane.

Hi, thanks for replying,  well the 3mm spar which you made is strong but when flying in strong wind , the wing snaps. So that's why I'm searching for ways to reinforce it.

All you need is a piece of lite ply in the middle section, also you could add few more 3mm coro stipes in the middle.
