Post by: mks on June 04, 2013, 08:32:51 PM
Hi Friends,
here are a few pics of the new plane I build this weekend (Fri-sat).

looking forward to fly it in a few days time..
It is my own design, made out of 3mm Corogated plastic sheet, bought from Paharganj Delhi,
this is my first SPAD plane, so new experience with this material,

it has a 2812 outrunner, 2200 Turnigy Lipo, 20 Amps ESC and Flysky 6ch RC

thanks
MK Sharma

I would guess about the same Arun, it being a bipe, and with that motor

Use a 1.5mm Allen key to remove the motor mount...:)

Go to a tool shop... and ask them for Allen key 1.5mm.. cost less that rs.10/-
Buy 2-3 PC's if you don't have a neat working table... ;D;D

Nice design and workmanship.....

hope you have aerofoil on the wings

if possible try with only one wing (High winger) this will reduce weight.

Hi Arun, yes it almost that.. 27" for upper and 25" for lower wing. wing chord is 9",

well yes I was trying to come-up with something I can fly in the nearby ground.. so wanted to keep the wingspan short. but to take care of the 2200 lipo weight needed good wing area.. so decided to go with the bipe.. The motor looks powerful enough to fly it I guess..   :)

Just before this model I made a highwinger, its a balsa model, which initially I was planning to fly with an engine. but recently I purchased the electric stuff from LHS.
another reason I made this one just to tryout this new material (sunboard sheet) and am fully satisfied with the result I got using cyno as glue to make such models.

I am planning to come out with a "not so heavy" plane with the sunboard remaining half sheet I bought. I would go for a lighter lipo for my next smaller plane... In which I would not put a vertical strip of wood for aerofoil .. two layers of coroplast would be sufficient with flutes running crosswise. won't have an aerofoil but would do the job.. its Just in the planning phase..

Hey can I know what is the material sun board?
Is that similar to foam board ? Which is a bit heavy and easily breakable..?:-[
